Winton brushes feature the finest Chinese hog bristles, handset into seamless corrosion resistant ferrules. The natural curve of the bristle is utilized to produce a resilient brush that retains its shape even after heavy use.

The handles have a green stained natural wood finish protected by four coats of lacquer. While specifically designed for use with oil, these quality brushes are equally suitable for acrylic.

Winton Hog Bristle Brush Pack — Includes 5 good quality Chinese hog bristle brushes with interlocked heads for control and durability. These stiff brushes offer the artist control of full-bodied color. They are best suited for oil, but can also be used with full-bodied acrylics. This is a versatile brush assortment offering the student or professional artist high quality at an affordable price.

This set includes one each Round #6 (fine detail and lines), Bright #8 (sharp edge with control), Fan #3 (for blending, softening edges, and creating textures), Filbert #6 (broad mark with a soft edge), and Flat #6 (used to blend, glaze, or cover a large area).

These are the worst brushes I have yet encountered. After one hour of normal non-aggressive use, they were frayed and completely lost their shape. Definitely not for someone seriously painting.

The bristles come out in the oil paint. I'm not rough on my brushes, just normal strokes. It's annoying to have to dig these stiff hairs out of my paintings.

I've been using these brushes for over a year now and they have retained their shape and spring. I am painting in acrylics and these brushes stand up to all the scrubbing and scumbling abuse I give it. As long as you take care of your brushes and clean them well they will last for a long time. My favorite brush is the flat #6. I've been using this one for over a year now, it's a bit worn down now but still retains it's spring and shape.

Winton Bristle Brushes are easily the best economy brand hog bristle brushes on the market. I've tried many and have settled with Winton after first trying them about eight years ago. They are my staple for traditional oil painting both indoors and out. I have never had any issues with hair coming loose and the brushes keep their shape for a long, long time. An excellent value for the money.

I bought two brushes Size-2 and Size-6 round and found them falling apart right after using twice.The bristles came of as though they were never stuck inside the ferrule.I am totally disappointed and never buy this product again.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I just got done using my #6 filbert for the first time, and after washing it, it's not retaining its shape at all. what i bought was a filbert, but what i'm looking at now could be anything. i'm very unsatisfied. don't get any

I bought 2 sets of flat, one set of bright and one set of round. I use them for indoor oil painting. I like the brushes but had two of them literally "fall apart" after only 3 or 4 uses.
