University Brushes from Winsor & Newton are an affordable choice for all artists — from beginners to professionals — seeking a high-quality, inexpensive, all-purpose brush.

Made with smooth white polyester fibers that allow for clean, flowing strokes, they are soft enough to use with watercolors yet stiff enough to use with slightly more fluid oils and acrylics. The fiber offers excellent spring and shape retention and will last a considerable length of time if properly cared for.

The handles are crafted of natural wood and finished with five coats of red lacquer to protect them from swelling during use or when exposed to solvents.

Ideal for watercolor painting, Short Handle University Brushes are also an inexpensive all-purpose brush, ideal for a wide range of craft applications.
