I am a professional comic book Inker, so my work day revolves around having a quality brush to work with. In that respect, I can say, hands down, the Winsor & Newton Series 7 Kolinsky Sable is the absolute best brush out there. I have yet to find any other brush that allows me the same level of control and/or ability to create as fine of a line! Dick Blick sells the genuine, top quality W&N brush...without worry of it being a knock off or some lesser quality, secondary market version.I highly recommend this item to anyone looking for a top quality brush!
The Best Watercolor Brush Ever
from Nashville, TN
I still get sticker shock when I think about how much I spent for this brush, but my size 5 Series 7 brush has become my favorite and most used tool in watercolor. It's versatility and performance far outstrips any other watercolor brush I've ever used. It holds water and pigment for an incredibly long time, which means my stokes and color distribution are more consistent. I'm sorely tempted to get more. The size 5 is a great starting place if you want to try them out and really experience the difference. If you have the money and you want to have the best watercolor painting experience of your life, I highly suggest this brush.
Forms nice tip on end. Great for details and professional watercolors and holds color great. Still great Kolinsky quality unlike others who have decreased in quality. My former favorite Spain-brand Kolisnsky brush purchased in January is unusable as it does not form tip.
I use these brushes to paint miniatures and they're absolutely fantastic. They hold plenty of paint, and keep their point.
Best brushes made.

Blick has the best prices on these, and I shop around. Legendary line of brushes. They take a good amount of abuse while maintaining shape and point. Stop fighting with your supplies and get the real deal!
The best brush for inking hands down.
from San Francisco, CA
I have been inking drawings with Winsor and Newton series 7 brushes for the last 7 years. I switched from using brush pens when I realized that comic book artists had been using brushes as a standard to ink their drawings since the earliest days of the medium. Since I have been using these brushes mostly for inking I would highly recommend them for this purpose however I also use gouache to do Illustrations and I would have to say they are perfect for that as well. For quality and price you really can't find a more useful brush, they always keep their point and as long as they don't clog with ink they will last a very long time. You can produce a variety of lines and with practice will find them very versatile. Rarely do I have to switch brushes to produce different lines and I always use a #2 or #3 round. If you're looking to buy these for inking drawings or for watercolor/gouache Paintings I think you will find them to be very useful and reliable.
Didn't realize what a difference these brushes could make.
