Welcome to dickblick
Since 1832, when Henry Newton and William Winsor introduced the first moist watercolors to the world, much of Winsor & Newton's reputation for supreme quality has stemmed from its Professional Watercolor range. More than 180 years later, the original Winsor & Newton moist watercolor continues to be formulated and manufactured according to the company's founding principles — to create an unparalleled watercolor range that offers professional artists the widest and most balanced choice of pigments with the greatest possible permanence.
Through strict adherence to these founding principles, Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolors offer brilliance, transparency, and purity of color unparalleled by any other brand. For the 21st century, these key qualities are achieved through a combination of choice of raw materials, custom-made machinery, and expert formulation by experienced chemists and artists.
Today, the Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolor range benefits from continued advancements in pigment technology and production methods, building on the company's already high standards to produce even brighter, more transparent, and more stable colors. Equally important, many of the formulations remain the same — proving that they cannot be bettered!

Comments about Winsor & Newton Artists' Watercolor Tubes:
these are lovely watercolors, i worried initially about how small the tubes were, and if these were really worth the price, but I'm beyond satisfied with their quality.

This is high quality but very expensive paint. I only use this brand for colors that are not available in other lines. Recommended for serious artists, but not beginners. I do love their perylene green and brown madder (both are indispensible)!

Comments about Winsor & Newton Artists' Watercolor Half Pans:
These have turned out to have the clearest color mixes of any brands I have tried! I save them for when I need bright, clear colors such as a lavender field or botanicals. Very pleased with these paints!

I have used Winsor & Newton professional watercolors almost exclusively since the fall of 1967. The ratio of pigment to binder is at the top. The colors are permanent. They endure. Even when a tube has only a little color in it.... I let it dry, cut open the tube and use the rest of the paint. Only occasionally do I use another of the top brands.
I would buy this product again, best colors to paint with!
from Fenton, Mo
First of all, the person taking the order was so pleasant and very helpful, enjoy dealing with this company. The product is superior, and there is a huge difference say in Winsor Newton's Burnt Sienna and other brands......mixes well with others.

I am absolutely loving these watercolors! I have Daniel Smith and Sennelier as well but for bright, clean, clear mixes, these are the best I've seen. They are not as granulating as my Daniel smiths so I do use both but I find these are perfect for botanicals where I do a lot of mixing to be the right tone. When running out the door with my travel supplies, I end up reaching for these!!

I'm never disappointed with the quality of Winsor & Newton Professional grade watercolors. A nice variety of paint tube sizes and a great price if you buy in bulk. I will continue to be exclusive with this paint.
Winsor Newton Professional Watercolor
from St. Marys Ohio
I recently took a watercolor workshop and wanted to switch to professional grade watercolors before the class. I chose Winsor Newton because of its reputation and availability. My work was a leap in color intensity, mixing ease and application. There is a big difference in this new piece from my other work. Even my husband remarked, when he saw it: You are better than you think you are.
There IS a difference between Winsor & Newton Artists' Watercolor tubes and pans. Both are professional quality, highly pigmented paint — so what is the difference? Watch this video to learn which paint is best suited for your needs.
