Welcome to dickblick
Since 1832, when Henry Newton and William Winsor introduced the first moist watercolors to the world, much of Winsor & Newton's reputation for supreme quality has stemmed from its Professional Watercolor range. More than 180 years later, the original Winsor & Newton moist watercolor continues to be formulated and manufactured according to the company's founding principles — to create an unparalleled watercolor range that offers professional artists the widest and most balanced choice of pigments with the greatest possible permanence.
Through strict adherence to these founding principles, Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolors offer brilliance, transparency, and purity of color unparalleled by any other brand. For the 21st century, these key qualities are achieved through a combination of choice of raw materials, custom-made machinery, and expert formulation by experienced chemists and artists.
Today, the Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolor range benefits from continued advancements in pigment technology and production methods, building on the company's already high standards to produce even brighter, more transparent, and more stable colors. Equally important, many of the formulations remain the same — proving that they cannot be bettered!

Great Watercolor set- exceeded expectations
By The Earth Walker
Comments about Winsor & Newton Artists' Watercolor Sets:
I have waited awhile to purchase a pan set of watercolors. Most these days are in plastic carriers. I like things that will last. So ; I purchased the heavy duty metal box set 12 full pans. Each color pan is individually wrapped. There was no color chart in case I ned to reorder a specific pan. I know on the side of each pan it is printed. However I am not sure over time it will hold up. So I taped each wrapper to the cardboard box it came in. The construction is very sturdy. Better than I thought it would be !!! I was impressed & that is saying something. I do wish the latch to close held tighter. Other than that I am quite pleased.

I either use Holbein or Winsor Newton watercolors with my paintings. It depends on the color I am looking for,but these paints are excellent to paint with. There is also a large color selection, the colors are smooth, and cling to the paper.
Very good Product
from Agawam, MA
I am using the product in a painting for an art contest. It flows very well. The only thing that I don't like about it, is that it does not come off that easily with water if you make a mistake.

This is perfect for my small to medium sized watercolor projects. The product is rigid, waterproof, and lightweight. I can't think of a thing I would change.
