Made from Russian Black Sable hair, these unique brushes offer the perfect balance between stiff and soft hair.

With slightly more body and snap than Red Sable, but softer than Hog Bristle, Eclipse brushes are ideal for subtle blending and fine glazing, as they show minimal brush strokes. They're also highly resilient and responsive, making them perfect for lightly thinned and "let down" oil color.

A double-bodied handle with a sculpted, balanced grip both at the tail and below the ferrule make them useful for both easel painting and "close in" work.

Note — Brush sizes are not standardized. The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size varies considerably by manufacturer. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from a given manufacturer.

I've had these brushes for several years. they stand up and last long. Still going strong.
Even with so many other brushes I find they are a go to brush for me.
Especially for detail and control.
they keep their shape and strength, and have better control then most of the more expensive brushes I've used.
I have been very impressed with them over the years

I bought a few of these brushes a couple months back, because im always looking for a quality brush that is softer than bristle but stiffer than sable, while maintaining the feel of natural hair. These Eclipse brushes fit that profile exactly. I am pretty hard on my brushes and surprisingly they seem to be more durable and hold up better than most bristle brushes on the market. I have since placed three more orders specifically for this product, and now they are pretty much the only brushes i use. Except for extremely fine detail and finishing work, at which time i go back to sable or kolinsky.

btw try the 'thick fan' for blending larger areas with acrylics. You wont regret it!

I can do almost anything with these brushes. With acrylics, they retain a nice spring and with oils they can blend well. The double bodied handle gives good balance and control when used up-close or standing away from the painting. They are a good balance between stiff and soft.

These brushes looked "frayed" after moistening and were barely usable. I'm returning them. Not up to Blick's usual high quality, in my opinion.
