Welcome to dickblick
Winsor & Newton's Series 150 Bamboo Brush is designed for Asian ink and watercolor painting, but the extra long hairs make for exciting strokes in traditional watercolors as well. These brushes are also excellent for ceramic glazing applications.
It has a bamboo handle with a plastic ferrule.

Comments about Winsor & Newton Bamboo Brush Series 150:
I always use W&N products for watercolor, but this product was so different. Very light, and gives different texture to my work.

Used it for one art class and bristles falling out already. Disappointing. Have not used other mBamboo brushes to compare quality.

Incredible for the price
I use these brushes mainly for painting with casien (a tempera like paint made from milk instead of eggs) and it performs wonderfully when the paint is thinned to the proper consistency. I've also used these to sketch colour into drawings using both tube watercolors and concentrated designer color. Color washes out nice except for cyans but that's a bit difficult anyway. Wash out great with dawn and point up nicely with a good flick to get off excess water and a quick pinch in the forefingers with a touch of saliva. Highly recommended. I find myself using these more than western rounds because of their versatility.
best watercolor brushes for the money

I teach art at Mound Fort Junior High School in Ogden, Utah. I love these brushes compared to any other brushes, they hold their tip, but can be loaded with color at the same time. I want not use any other brushes.
Holds Well, Excellent Quality
from Belleview, Florida
I purchased the Bamboo Brush, Size 0 to use with my traditional watercolors. This brush is solid in the hand, with a light, balanced feel. The mop head soaks up a lot of water and holds it, while still keeping it's fine point. The bristles are not firm and stiff but free flowing, making graceful sweeping lines of color. Blicks packaging ensures a safe arrival- with a plastic tip protector on brush head secured in a knotted plastic bag. Beautiful brush! Will be purchasing more sizes from this line in the future. Blick is THE PLACE to purchase from offering the best in shipping, secure packing, excellent customer service with the lowest cost around.
