While I can't speak to quality of the paint (new to this brand), I can say that this kit is certainly a well thought out design.

Compact: When completely open (as in the display picture), this set has a maximum length of 8.5 inches, and height 2 inches (including the cap that turns into a cup). Very small. When closed one could easily fit this in a coat pocket with room to spare.

Complete: Everything that one could need to make a painting is included. Any parts that need to be cleaned can be easily removed.

I purchase paints based on 1. Lightfastness, 2. Ability for paint to blend 3. Staining/opaque qualities. I don't shop by brand, I shop by individual colors in that brand. I got the Winsor Blue, Winsor Yellow, and Cadmium Scarlet...all of which are awesome for my usage...

The only disappointment was that the tube of paint was so small (I should have read the fine print).

The little W & N Paintbox is a valuable tool for the watercolorist on the go--along with Moleskine watercolor book.

Yet to try using it in church, but I'm thinking about it. Used it in the mall today waiting for my wife. Worked great

The little reservoir in the box seems to hold just enough water. Need to squeeze box for it to come out.

Some little leakage in the cap, but torqued down harder no problem.

Good value for the money. Paints are very good, for which W & N is well known.

My first time experimenting with watercolor paints, as an enthusiastic and excellent teacher coaches me along on Thursday mornings, this middle-aged student is just having a blast. Because I have painted with oils, used pastels, experimented with drawing from charcoal to pencils,as well as having delved heavily into ceramics and print-making, I thought I would invest in my instructor's many recommended watercolor tubes of paint from Winsor Newton available for artists through Dick Blick. Just two weeks along, I am excited to feel how these colors work for me as I learn this medium. Just came in from a walk with a little collection of vibrantly changed autumn leaves in my hand. Tomorrow morning, I'll be practicing ways to see them in watercolors using my new array of Winsor Newton paints. Thanks for shipping them my way so quickly and please know that I appreciate the discounted price.

I find these watercolors economical to use for an artistic quality paint. The pigment of these paints are average however they are fine to use.
