The paint is great and size/design of box is terrific. I didn't realize the box choices were heavyweight enamel or PLASTIC. Plastic is okay but wish I had the metal one. I have taken this and my moleskine with a couple of travel brushes all over the world and find I enjoy my travels more because I sketch and paint what I see. Also love looking back at old entries. Highly recommend!

I've bought several WN paints and have to admit that they are very good paints. I've read the review of WN on Handprint.com as well and have to agree with that author who, in my belief, is the most knowledgeable person regarding watercolers in the U.S.

I believe that WN is ripping off its customer base and will ultimately pay for it by selling their goods at premium prices and then selling only 14 ml tubes instead of the usual industry-standard of 15 ml tubes. This jacks their price up another 6.25 percent. One ml may not sound like much, but it's hefty when you buy a lot of paint. Multiply that extra ml by the millions of tubes they sell worldwide and now you're talking real money.

I have begun a personal embargo on WN paints and refuse to buy their product any more until they give their, so far, loyal customer base their due.

Love the size of this product for travel/plein air work. Windsor newton does a fine job with this, and as far as I know there is no one else even making half pans that you can order individually . They have the market cornered,but that's ok since the product satisfies.

I have been painting for many years and in my mind the WN colors are definately the best. Burnt Sienna is a "must have" for every pallete

While I can't speak to quality of the paint (new to this brand), I can say that this kit is certainly a well thought out design.

Compact: When completely open (as in the display picture), this set has a maximum length of 8.5 inches, and height 2 inches (including the cap that turns into a cup). Very small. When closed one could easily fit this in a coat pocket with room to spare.

Complete: Everything that one could need to make a painting is included. Any parts that need to be cleaned can be easily removed.

I purchase paints based on 1. Lightfastness, 2. Ability for paint to blend 3. Staining/opaque qualities. I don't shop by brand, I shop by individual colors in that brand. I got the Winsor Blue, Winsor Yellow, and Cadmium Scarlet...all of which are awesome for my usage...

The only disappointment was that the tube of paint was so small (I should have read the fine print).
