These promise to be great brushes, I mean hey look at the pictures they look awesome! I really liked the fatty handles on them as well. But They are horrible at painting.. wait, what? Yes they are horrible at doing the job they were designed for.
In the pictures they are lush and pointed, all the while promising to hold a lot of paint and paint a great line. Well I've found just the opposite. I originally wanted something for my larger projects that would give me a smooth paint job instead what I got is a brush that frays like a mohawk with day old hair spray and bed head. This is the bad part : the paint is pushed to the outside of the bristles on the canvas/miniature. So yeah it paints two lines instead of one and well I wouldn't say "line" I would say puddle of paint. The bristles are a little too soft for miniature painting and they really don't hold a great amount of paint. So my advice would be to skip them and go for the Raphaël Kolinsky Red Sable Fine Pointed Round brushes.

Since I first tried this brush(pointed round)about a year and a half ago, it's become one of my most frequently used brushes. i use the Pointed rounds specifically, and find that for my fine detail work they are superb. I use them with oil paint, which means they don't last very long, but with the beautifully fine point they come to they're ideal for me! I buy them in quantity now, and find although they don't last as long as the Raphael 8404's, they suit my work better.

I purchased four round brushes, and had one brush replaced because the ferrule became detached from the handle. The paint splits and chips off. I would not recommend this itam

I have a pointed round 8, a standard round 10 and the 1/2" onestroke. These brushes are a fantastic value--I just wish they came in larger sizes!

I love the extra length and sharp point of the pointed round in particular, and the standard round has a nice point, as well. Both come back to a point easily, and hold a lot of paint.

The onestroke is a nice, thirsty brush that is great for washes, with good spring. The 1" is a good size for a lot of things, and I'm reaching for it often.

I recommend these brushes to anyone looking for a great brush at a great price. Time will tell, but so far they are as nice as my more expensive brushes, plus I love the handles, too. If you're wondering if these brushes are worth getting, don't hesitate--they are.

I have several of these Winsor & Newton brushes in a range of sizes and have been pleased with all of them. They carry a lot of paint and hold a point very well. In addition to their good painting properties,they represent a real bargain. I highly recommend these brushes.

I bought a #4 round a few months ago, and it's been a real workhorse for me. It's soft, so it's easy to make smooth, clean washes, but it has a nice snappy, pointy tip, so it can also paint really thin, precise lines. For such a small brush, it holds lots of water. I've only had synthetics before, but now I use them only for lifting and for mixing on the palette. I now also have an Escoda Kolinsky round, and it so far seems to have similar qualities.

I just bought this brush in a No 10 round and a No 3 rigger. I was excited to see a sable brush at such a reasonable price. I regulary use Winsor & Newton Sceptre Gold and Series 7 brushes and have found them to be of excellent quality. I expected a similar level of performance from this brush and was greatly dissapointed. This brush has almost no spring, it is made of a very soft, poor quality sable. It does not hold it's shape when applied to the paper. The brush appears to be a size 10 but Winsor & Newton seem to have used less hair when constructing this brush. It is very light and the handle has a mat finish which feels like, and possibly is plastic. I have had better results with thier blended Sceptre Gold (at almost half the price). If you do require a sable brush skip this one and save for a Series 7.

My friends, with more expensive brushes, are jealous of my brushes. I originally bought three of various sizes just to test them out; I thought it was too good to be true! I've since bought all the rounds and am trying to complete my set.

I have been using these brushes for the past two years and really like the ability to hold paint and keep the point on the "pointed rounds". The 'one stroke' brushes keep their shape and are great to use. I have orderd more as back-ups to what I have.
