Winsor & Newton Artists' Spray Varnishes

Winsor & Newton Artists' Spray Varnishes are the easiest way to provide paintings with superior, brushstroke-free protection against dirt, grease, and UV damage. All formulas are removable with mineral spirits or turpentine so that paintings may be cleaned in the future.

Artists' High Gloss Varnish Spray — This general-purpose, non-yellowing varnish for oil, alkyd, and acrylic paintings dries to a high-gloss finish. Paintings must be thoroughly dry (at least 6–12 months) prior to application.

Artists' Matt Varnish Spray — This varnish dries to a flat, non-glossy finish, suitable for oil, alkyd, and acrylic paintings. Paintings must be thoroughly dry (at least 6–12 months) prior to application.

Artists' Satin Varnish Spray — This high-quality varnish for oil, alkyd, and acrylic paintings dries quickly to low-gloss sheen. Paintings must be thoroughly dry (at least 6–12 months) prior to application.

Dammar Varnish Spray — This traditional, pale yellow varnish dries quickly to a high gloss finish and is primarily suitable for sealing oil and alkyd paintings, prints, and maps. Please note that it tends to darken with age.

Retouching Varnish Spray — Ideal for temporary protection on recently completed oil paintings, this clear removable varnish dries to a non-yellowing, glossy film.
