Superb for "Oiling Out!"
By Maestro Perry
from Indianapolis, Indiana
Comments about Winsor & Newton Artists' Painting Medium:
I have mainly used if for "oiling out" and find out I'm exceptionally impressed by the explosive colours that are revitalized, especially the blacks, in which I found sunken into the canvas after breaking away from the artwork for a minor brief time or in some cases longer. It brings out the oily flow like the after you just freshly painted on the canvas, which gives a much need accurate colourization of your hues to go back on where you had left off from.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Good product. Helps me extend my paint and make it flow better.
Great stuff, very smooth
By An Oil Painter
Dick Blick sent me a bottle of this by accident, and it's since become my favorite oil medium. It thins oil paint to a wonderful smooth texture that just slides of the brush, and gives the paint a jewel-like luminescence. Fantastic for glazing. It's like you get the glowing effect of pure stand-oil, but without having to actually deal with that sticky, horrible substance. I used to mix stand oil with thinner, basically making this medium myself, but that's easier said than done and it's way nicer to just buy the perfectly mixed medium off the shelf. It slows the drying time somewhat, which is a plus for me. It creates a very glossy surface. Sometimes I'll rub a light layer over the whole painting to bring up dead spots and give an even sheen. It has a smoother feel than pure linseed oil. Highly recommended.

I like using the Winsor and Newton Artists' Painting Medium on the Ampersand Gessobord. It allows for good detail and glazes well, with a slower drying time.
