I needed that material for "Learn and Master Painting with Gayle Levee". I didn't find it in Brazil, so after research in US and EU I chose DickBlick due to the price, good information about the process and easy to use site.
DickBlick did it very well and fast, the shipping was done by Fedex.
AS a note to brazilian potential costumer, I paid about 100% due to custom fee, direct to Fedex. As mentioned, I didn't find this material in local stores. The shipping took 10 days.

I use Winsor and Newton paint and love it, so I thought I would give these brushes a try. Within three uses, these brushes became unusable. The bristles frayed and split so the edges of the brush were completely destroyed, even after using Masters brush cleaner and reshaping them. The handle contour also felt unnatural. Very disappointing.

The original Rathbone filbert was a perfect brush. Stiff but pliable, it held lots of paint and lent itself to rigorous application and a wide variety of mark making. This substitute brush is flabby, the handle shape is awkward (as if the designer has never painted), and the hair density is substantially less. This is a thoroughly worthless product.

I bought three flats(1,3,5) and a round. I haven't had a chance to use the round, but the flats are horrible. They don't retain any shape while painting. Forget the crisp and clean edges with these brushes. I use Master's Brush soap and reshape all my brushes when done, but it doesn't help with these brushes. I've got bristle brushes that cost a fraction of these(bought in bulk) that work better.

I really wanted to make these brushes my holy grail as I favor the manufacturer in the auxiliary of my tool kit. I do consider these brushes good as I acknowledge them to possess most the qualities I look for in oil brushes, those generally being: weight, an ergonomical handle, quality bristles, overall aesthetics...However, the bristles (particularly the extra-long filbert) are not strong in the decisive aspect of shape retention--and we all know how important that is. I'll conclude that these are better than student grade certainly but for the "artists'" price they are not. Alternatively, I enthusiastically recommend Blick's own Masterstroke range as well as Da Vinci's Maestro range for brush prices that reflect their quality.

These brushes a very well balanced and hold paint well. I have found that on some of the brushes that a couple of the brisltes do not go back into place.

I paint daily with oils and acrylics and have used these brushes for both. These handle well with oil. I haven't had the same problems with bristles breaking off but the rounds have to be reshaped though I have other brushes by Escoda, etc that have to be reshaped. These are thick bristled brushes so they do hold paint and it takes a soap washing after using citrus cleaner to get the paint out completely. I've used the brushes I have for two years and these and Blick MasterStroke are the brushes I favor for oils. I use Escode brushes for very fine details.

Me and my wife purchased tons of these brushes at an artist's trade show. The have a beautiful design and they feel great. The design of the handle is unique where the weight of the brush is balanced in the hand. Very light weight and easy to use. I felt they come with a heavy amount of sizing on the bristles when you purchase them, it took me longer than most brushes to wash it out of the bristles. The biggest complaint I would have about these brushes would be that the bristles do flay easily and do not instantly retain shape. Though unlike other reviewers here I do not expect the brush to do the work for me, and with extra work the brush can be reshaped. I always take meticulous care of my brushes. I've tried many types of brushes and I was hoping that this would be my favorite, unfortunately if you don't want to spend any additional time taking care of your tools this brush isn't for you. I use these brushes often in combination with other brands, but would not recommend this brush (The Artist's Oil Brush) without telling someone they lose their shape easily.

WN's previous Rathbone line of brushes was far superior to this replacement line. These brushes don't hold their shape, and lose bristles quickly. Very disappointing by comparison, and I won't use this new line unless I have to.
