If you're looking for a true artist-quality water soluble oil paint, I feel that Artisan is not the best choice. I find the paint to be harder to use and blend than others that I've tried. Some of the colors, to me, have a gummy feel. At a comparable price, Weber Woils are better, and a notch up would be Grumbacher Max. I find myself giving away my tubes of Artisan and sticking with Woils and Max. You may want to do the same.

I have tried all the brands of water-mixable paints. The pigment load in these is not as good and they have a strong odor. That is important to me. Most of the reviews here of Artisan are first-time users. Get Cobra, Holbien, or Max instead. Also get the linseed oil that is made with the product for the best use, they need a bit more oil to spread.

I got these as a present, I wouldn't paint with oil medium without this kind of paint, since I am sensitive to mineral spirits, thinners and the kind. They are basically traditional oil paint but you can mix it with water! when mixing with water the colour might look brighter than it really is but that's temporary until water evaporates. The palette is sufficient for most work, I like that it has the glass bottle with water Mixable linseed oil.
The brushes are a different story, I got disappointed because the brushes were barely usable, the bristles came opened and without shape, the handle paint was cracking, all the hairs had irregular sizes, I won't trust those brushes for my work. I recommend to buy brushes separately.
Anyway the tubes are a little small for me but the quality compensates. Expect Quality Water Mixable Oil to be a little expensive.

Twice, the caps on the 200 ml tubes have snapped off on me, leaving the threaded part on the tube, and I had exerted almost no pressure.
Otherwise I have no complaints about the paint, but I have to admit I haven't tried many other brands. I use the Artisans because they're readily available and have a wide variety of mediums to go with them.

What I really like about Artisan oils in addition to the way it spreads and the wonderfu colours, is the fact that I can still use oils but avoid the harmful odors and solvents.

If you use acrylic or oils try the water mixables oils,this
product is by far the best for canvas,it spreads like oils
and clean up is with soap and water! great product

I really like this product. Having only worked in acrylics before, it's nice to have a longer open time. They dry faster than traditional oils, but it works. Great blending capabilities. Note that the Ivory Black uses charred animal bones. Being vegetarian, I didn't know that when I bought these and was disappointed. It also smells like rotten fish. But the rest of them are great and don't smell!

it's my first try at oil painting. i have been working in watercolor for over thirty years and these oils have made it quite enjoyable. i still have a lot to learn but i have confidence in this product and nothing but time to learn how it works.
