This is a truly revolutionary breakthrough in easel design! The Windmill revolving easel incorporates groundbreaking new technology that won first place for Best New Product at the 2007 NAMTA (National Art Materials Trade Association) Show.
The Windmill assembly rotates a full 360°, allowing unobstructed access to every part of the canvas surface, while unique brackets hold the stretcher frames from the inside to allow access to the edges. A hydraulic damper also allows the canvas to be tilted horizontally from -2° to 90° to accommodate pastels and watercolors, or for working on fabric and embroidery arts.
The Windmill assembly can be detached from the easel, for attachment to other vertical surface, such as walls — or any horizontal surface, such as a worktable. An extra counterweight is recommended with particularly large canvases or when the pivot assembly is attached to another manufacturer's easel. The maximum recommended canvas weight for the Windmill Revolving Easel is 25 lbs (11.3 kg).
Beautiful and durable, the Windmill is constructed of satin finished birch wood laminate. Convenience features include easy roll locking casters, and a base shelf to accommodate toolboxes or canvas storage.
Partial assembly is required, with a total assembly time of less than 15 minutes.
Effective in easing artist fatigue during lengthy painting sessions, this easel also is ideal for artists who have physical challenges.
Each easel includes a Windmill Pivot Assembly and a Universal Bracket Kit. The Studio Easel and Pivot Assembly models also include a removable base. Stand-alone Pivot Assemblies and additional Universal Bracket Kits are sold separately below.
The Pivot Assembly attaches, via fasteners or hook-and-loop straps, to horizontal and vertical surfaces such as worktables and walls, as well as many other manufacturers’ larger easels. Windmill Easels and Pivot Assemblies come with two 24" (61 cm) hook-and-loop straps and a selection of additional fasteners.
The use of a counterweight may be recommended depending on the size and weight of artwork.

Seem like a good product, but bad initial experience with it

Comments about Windmill Revolving Easel:
Just received the easel and put it together. It appears to be a solid and well designed product. However...Instructions provided by the manufacturer are terrible. The instructions refer to markings on parts, where there are no markings and there are markings on some pieces that are not described in the instructions. Instruction photos and steps are not numbered, making it confusing to follow. Holes in some the parts (shelf that sits on base and the easel arms that fit into rectangular tubes) that should line up, do not. Because of the shortcomings in the instructions and in the lack of appropriate marking of the parts, I assembled and then disassembled the base of the unit 3 times before I got it right.Packaging materials: Be prepared for a big mess when you open the boxes. Styrofoam sheet is used throughout the packaging, and thousands of small pieces of foam came of the boxes as I removed parts. It appears that the foam pieces were cut or broken to fit as the boxes were packed, leaving a lot of debris in the box. My studio now is littered everywhere with white bits of foam that cling to everything.Because of my initial experience with it, I've taken away one star in my rating of the Windmill Easel.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Just bought the 60" head section. All the parts were there. Everything worked. I expected a really nice finish on the materials and ended up having to sand the pivot arms pretty extensively. One of the arms had some minor damage to the wood and some grease on the wood as well. For this kind of money I expect high quality and better finish work. Everything seems true though and works as advertised.

It helps level the playing field.

I am physically disabled and this product helps me paint. It is wonderful - allows me to be more independent and even paint the sides of my paintings. I am spoiled by it - hard to go back to a regular easel now!

This easel is wonderful. It has definitely been worth the price and was easy to assemble. You can position the canvas in virtually any manner. It really does reduce fatigue, enabling me to paint longer; a person doesn't have to put their wrist in awkward positions in order to paint a detail or get a curve right. You can bring the canvas to you!
