Notches have larger spaces so thicker yarn can be used. Projects can be completed in a shorter amount of time. Each package includes 12 looms except the assorted package includes 20.

Comments about Pacon Wide-Notch Cardboard Looms:
I am an art teacher that includes weaving as part of the curriculum. This is a great loom for 3-5 th graders to use. If you use thick yarn, kids can complete the project could be completed in 2 hours. An adult can complete it in 45 min with a thick yarn. This is by only using 6 warp yarns. The loom has enough to use 7 warp yarns.

Our Spinner's and Weaver's Guild volunteers create a loom-kit package using the cardboard looms as a component. The strudy looms are reusable and the kits are very popular. We've always ordered the cardboard looms from Blick Art Materials because of the reasonable price and free, quick shipping. Excellent product and service.

great product and price, purchased for my 5th graders to weave on
Amazingly easy and affordable!
from Berlin, CT
These wide-notch, cardboard looms are amazingly easy to use and very affordable for a tight art budget. The students find it easy to wind the warp strings as well as remove their finished tapestry when finished. As these are used from year to year, the only drawback is the fraying of the end notches. Maybe stiff plastic would be a practical alternative or a plastic coating on the cardboard. Of course this would undoubtedly affect cost. Nevertheless, their affordability allows me to share weaving with my 4th grade students. Thanks!

These looms are very easy to use and sturdy too. I teach my second graders how to make pouches with these looms and they can understand the simple weaving technique with these looms. The looms are easy to string too. They are an excellent product and a good value too.

These cards contributed very well to the treasure bags of youngsters who attended a colonial faire. The presenting children (a 5th or 6th grader) could easily start each visitor will a weaving project which could be taken home for completion.
Very good for teaching kids

I'm going to use the cardboard looms for a Fine Arts Day project at one of the nearby schools. I like the wide notch looms as the kids have an easier time with them and it makes for more flexible weaving.I also am, as usual, pleased with Dick Blick's prompt and good handling of this order.
