Comments about What to Draw and How to Draw It:
I'm trying to learn how to draw but this book is totally uninspiring. I'm going to take it to the half price bookstore because I won't use it.

Great start to drawing
from Enfield, CT
It explains in a step by step pattern. By doing so makes it easier to understand and not defeating a new artist hopes of accomplishment.

It filled the bill
from Hammond, IN
I teach art to 8, 9 and 10 year olds and wanted them to do something, not crafty, for Thanksgiving. I opened the little book and wala, there was a turkey with instruction on how to draw it. I had the children follow along and their turkeys were beautiful. So glad I bought the book. A good drawing lesson.
Fun book on vintage art instruction
from Loon Lake, WA
This book is a wonderful addition to any artists' collection. Reprinted from an earlier era it is fun to look at and, I think, will be a great keepsake. It evokes memories for many of early "how-to-draw lessons" and this one is said to have even been an inspiration for Walt Disney. I purchased one as a gift and one for myself.

As a professional artist and art teacher I found this lovely book to be helpful as well as charming. A great addition to any artist/teacher's library.....informative and clear, created during a time when life was much simpler.
