Comments about C-Thru Combo Set:
The see through nature of the c-thru tools have been very helpful to my students who do not yet have a solid concept of angle prediction and measurement.

Great price-delivered as promised. Couldn't ask for more. This particular design is perfect for my needs.
Not recommended for students
Honestly, for the price, you can't really expect high quality. You get what you pay for in this case.I purchased the 8" set (be advised, the ruler meaures 8" and the other tools are shorter - check the product images to get the idea). When it arrived, both triangles had chipped corners, one had multiple 'stress' cracks in the plastic, and the ruler had stress cracks. They could have been packaged better by Blick. That said, as a student, these items are likely to face moderate wear and tear just from being transported between classes. I think the plastic is too brittle for how thin it is at the edges of these tools (about 1 mm).The real deal breaker for me is that the protractor's straight edge isn't straight. There's about a .25 mm deviation along 25 mm of the edge. While a protracter isn't necessarily used for straight lines, one would expect a measuring instrument to be made with higher standards. It's too much of a risk to have something like this with my supplies - I'll inevitably grab it to use as a straightedge sometime and ruin/really mar an important project.I'm going to switch to a different brand. In design school, it's not worth risking the grade just because I didn't invest in adequate tools. Our professors are (justifiably) precision oriented - this set really doesn't make the grade.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Great product, can't do without it.

I use this item almost every day in my art work. It was quite a challenge to find this particular size again, once I wore out the last set.About the only thing I don't care for is that the products have a rather slick feel to them and that makes it difficult to pick up from a surface.
