Join Arnold Lowrey and Wendy Jelbert as they share the results of their experiments with light, color, texture, and mixed media gleaned from years of experience as professional artists and teachers. A total of 20 step-by-step demonstrations include tips and techniques for painting weathered buildings, simple skies, landscapes, winter scenes, farmyards, a Venetian scene, and more. This book includes material from previously released books including Starting to Paint; From Sketch to Painting; Perspective, Depth & Distance; and Painting Mood & Atmosphere. Arnold Lowrey has been painting in a variety of media for more than 25 years. His motivation has been the use of light in painting, but he now experiments more with color and texture. His seascapes are especially vibrant and full of movement. Lowrey also likes painting still lifes, landscapes, portraits, and abstracts, which he exhibits in Wales and London. He holds regular weekend workshops, weekly painting courses, and demonstrations for art societies. He is also a painting demonstrator for several art materials suppliers. Wendy Jelbert is a teacher and professional artist who works in pastels, oils, acrylics, inks, and watercolors. She enjoys experimenting with different ways of using mixed media and texture. Her sometimes unconventional methods often produce surprising and original results. Authors — Arnold Lowrey and Wendy Jelbert. 376 pages. 8½" × 11½" (22 cm × 29 cm). |
