Utrecht Manglon Synthetic Brushes (Series 239) are constructed with unique multi-colored, multi-diameter synthetic Taklon. Each filament is tapered to a fine point, dyed, and then set into black-plated seamless brass ferrules. The ferrules are securely fastened with deep double crimping on long black lacquered handles.
Known for their excellent paint capacity, these brushes have the silky feel of fine sable, an extraordinary snap-back, and great shape retention. They work well for sharp, clean brushwork and edging with medium-bodied to heavy-bodied paints.
Available in a variety of sizes and shapes, Utrecht Manglon Synthetic Brushes are great for use with oils and acrylic paints.

Love these brushes for oil painting

Love these brushes for oil painting. Nice snap and smooth application
Get the right size.

These are excellent brushes, in particular the smaller rounds that I used on a recent oil painting. I've not had an actual sable do a more versatile job, but I suspect these brushes would fair even better with acrylics or water mixable oils. More importantly, check the brush sizes before ordering. If brush manufacturers standardized sizing across the board, Utrecht would be a good precedent since a number 4 filbert is closer to a 4 mm. The long and short of it is, check the brush dimensions before ordering. Even so, Manglons are a good value.

Excellent brushes, very durable

Comments about Utrecht Manglon Synthetic Flat:
I bought several of these brushes in a #6 Flat size. I have been using one of them for months now and it is holding up really well. Have not needed to go to my backup. Bought several more in smaller sizes and the handle is reduced in size in relationship to the brush size. Allows for great spring and movement. These brushes have become one of my standard 'go to' studio brushes. Nice product..

Comments about Utrecht Manglon Synthetic Fan:
I was taking an online class which required a fan brush. I bought this brush and was happy with the results. The brush stroke was clean and the brush was easy to clean.

These brushes are great, the perfect balance of price, quality, and they can take some abuse! My go-to brushes now.
A good brush for water soluble oils
By Partial to Plein Air

Synthetic brushes are recommended for use with water soluble oils. I have found that the Manglon brushes work well. Admittedly I am hard on brushes; the Manglons seem to survive my aggressive cleaning. They generally have enough firmness for effective paint application, although there's still room for improvement.

Good brushes for acrylics
I use these for acrylics. They hold their points and are a pleasure to use. They are medium soft and stand up to lots of use very well. They wash up easy and keep on looking and working well.
