Welcome to dickblick
Over a decade ago, in the hills of Northumberland, England, artist John Hersey began hand-making his own pastels. Gently hand-rolled and air-dried, each stick is as much an organic sculpture as it is a tool. Look closely at a stick and you may see the fine lines and fingerprints imparted by the pastels' creator. Each pastel takes on the tapered shape of the bowl of the maker's palms.
Hersey's unique color formulations contain only pure pigments in a cycle of related hues, instead of adding white or black to the colors. The result is intense, vibrant color application not muddied by the blending of colors. The color range is sublime overall and at moments astonishing.
Unison's pastels contain very little binder, making them truly soft and smooth. Pastels measure approximately 2-1/8" long × 5/8" diameter (54 mm × 16 mm). Sticks vary slightly due to the hand-making process.
Gift Idea — A variety of special combination Unison sets are available. See Unison Handmade Pastel Sets for pictures and more detailed specifications of these sets.
No Minimum Order — Many of our pastel lines require a minimum order of 6 pastels, however Unison pastels can be ordered individually.

Comments about Unison Handmade Pastel Sets:
I found them exceptional quality, holding together and going down like butter eve on rough sanded paper. So many colors, so much money.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Unison pastel set
Unison pastels are richly colored, soft enough to layer up a painting with tonal impact, and the landscape selection is well chosen, colorwise.love them.
Love these pastels!
Some of the best pastels I've used.

I would buy this again
I use these to paint landscapes. They are so soft and blendable and don't break easily. There is a huge selection of colors. These are the best pastels I have found.

I do realistic wildlife and animal portraits mosly on Velour and Pastelmat and Unison is the best pastels to use. They glide onto the surface with ease and are easy to blend but can also made a more defined line. I look forward to using these during my painting process as they are so easy and nice to use. I also use Rembrandt, Schmincke, Nupastel, Giocconda, Caran d'Ache, Carbothello, Conte and I must admit Unison are my favorite soft pastels and Caran d'Ache my favorite pastel pencils. And they work beautifully together
great colors and great blendability
Unison Pastels were created by an artist for artists. These uniquely soft and highly pigmented sticks are individually rolled which eliminates hard spots and provides consistent texture and color.
