Welcome to dickblick
This premium-quality, neutral-colored sanded pastel paper combines quality, consistency, and durability.
The 240 grade has the largest tooth available. The 400 and 500 grade have a moderate "bite," while the 600 and 800 grade are super fine. All grades accept many layers of hard or soft pastels, yet also work well with other mediums.
The low-profile surface allows for easy erasing. Each sheet is pH neutral and acid-free.
Handling Charge — When ordering sheets of paper or board larger than 18” x 24” in quantities of less than 10, a $3.00 per order handling fee applies. Paper or boards may be assorted to reach the quantity of 10.

Good paper I use it for underpainting and then soft pastels ,it has a lot of tooth, can take many layers of pastel. It is better than all other pastel papers

I told you not long ago that U-Art was addictive. Well, I am back for more.I really like keeping stock of different grits from 400 to 600 depending on the subject(portrait requires a finest grit).

paper rolls and bubbles with water or alcohol underpainting
from Richmond, VA
I love the texture of this paper and really enjoy how it feels to apply the pastel to. The problem I'm having is that when I do an underpainting using either water or alcohol, the paper rolls in towards the middle. If I have it taped down, the paper bubbles up in unpredictable places making it difficult to draw over. It doesn't settle down later. This makes it difficult to mat for framing since it still bubbles up. Otherwise I love it. If anyone has a different experience with it or suggestions as to how to keep that from happening, I'd love to know because I like it a lot otherwise.

Uart paper Review

This paper is just wonderful, especially when used with the Terry Ludwig pastels.
Got just what I wanted in no time.

I love Uart sanded pastel papers. Good tooth to grab the pigment!
Favored for application of Pastels
The initial layer of pastel applied look great but with the addition of workable fixative which the paper takes very well and A couple more layers of pastel the finished piece looks wonderful! I Love all of the different grades depending on what I'm painting. I use 400 and 500 the most. Extremely happy with the UART product .
Great paper to paint on!````````````````````````````````````

Love this sanded paper! It is tough enough to scrub with watercolor, or alcohol for the base painting without wrinkling or compromising the surface for the real pastel painting.
great pastel paper
Some papers I have used, changes texture when using a watercolor underpainiting. U-art stays consistent. and pastels go over the paper very smoothly.
