Welcome to dickblick
This premium-quality, neutral-colored sanded pastel paper combines quality, consistency, and durability.
The 240 grade has the largest tooth available. The 400 and 500 grade have a moderate "bite," while the 600 and 800 grade are super fine. All grades accept many layers of hard or soft pastels, yet also work well with other mediums.
The low-profile surface allows for easy erasing. Each sheet is pH neutral and acid-free.
Handling Charge — When ordering sheets of paper or board larger than 18” x 24” in quantities of less than 10, a $3.00 per order handling fee applies. Paper or boards may be assorted to reach the quantity of 10.

The BEST professional pastel surface ever
from Lovettsville, VA
Comments about UArt Sanded Pastel Paper:
I've used the Wallis sand paper for the last 15 years but when it became unavailable for such a stretch of time (and I believe it still is), I had to look elsewhere. THIS paper. I can't say enough. I use mainly pastel pencils (3 separate brands) and they blend and layer on this paper gorgeously. I use the 400 grit, which feels the most like the grit of the Wallis paper. 320 grit is wonderful for doing an underpainting and using soft pastels. I'm in love with this paper! My students are too.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

A painting I did on 400 grit Uart paper, mounted to acid free foam core.

Love the Sanded paper!
I will never go back to unsanded papers for pastel paintings. I have been so frustrated with the inability of most paper to hold multiple layers of pastel. The sanded paper gives me the ability to put bright whites on top of dark. Corrections are made by simply layering more pigment over the area I want to change.

Great replacement for Wallis Sanded paper
800 grade, Great paper, holds the layers.
This is the first time I have tried sanded papers so I bought 3 different kinds, I usually use Canson Mi-teintes (not "Touch"). This paper holds many many layers of pastel pencils and it's still smooth enough to get fine details. I also tried some colored pencil on it and it worked wonderfully. I will definitely be buying again. I like it over the 600 grade, I just wish they sold pads of that as well.
this is my "go to" paper for my pastel paintings.

Great pastel paper
from Fairhope AL
A very heavy paper that holds many layers pastel. I like sanded paper better than Canson MiTientes.
Pastel paper ,this paper is perfect for under painting ,
from Lakewood Newjersey.
Good paper I use it for underpainting and then soft pastels ,it has a lot of tooth, can take many layers of pastel. It is better than all other pastel papers
I told you not long ago that U-Art was addictive. Well, I am back for more.I really like keeping stock of different grits from 400 to 600 depending on the subject(portrait requires a finest grit).
