This premium-quality, neutral-colored sanded pastel paper combines quality, consistency, and durability.
The 400 and 500 grade have a moderate "bite," while the 600 and 800 grade are super fine. All grades accept many layers of hard or soft pastels, yet also work well with other mediums.
The low-profile surface allows for easy erasing. Each roll is pH neutral and acid-free.
Handling Charge — When ordering sheets of paper or board larger than 18” x 24” in quantities of less than 10, a $3.00 per order handling fee applies. Paper or boards may be assorted to reach the quantity of 10.

UArt Sanded Paper
UArt Sanded Paper is really the best brand. The grit of 320 will accept 20-24 layers of pastel. Rolls are more economical, but they are a little bit difficult to cut. I used a box cutter to cut the 56" roll down to 32". Then I used my cutting board. Perfect!
Very good pastel paper
I plan to make pastels over a long period of time. I take drawing classes and I draw landscapes for myself. In the long run this paper is very economical and the 56in width allows me to cut it to the sizes I need. This paper accepts many layers of pastel. It is essentially good quality 400 grit sandpaper. The paper arrived fast in good packing. The curvature comes out of it if you keep it pressed for a few days after unrolling and cutting it.
great texture for underpainting and mixed media .
Great for different underpainting techniques and mostly wet ones.

This is the best sanded pastel paper out on the market right now. It will take water, alcohol and turp washes, equally well. Great paper!

I have just started a new pastel painting using UArt sanded paper for the first time. I am thrilled with the results. Dick Blick packaged the 10 yard roll perfectly - it arrived in Australia in perfect condition. Great product.

Rolls are versatile!

I really like working on the UART surfaces because you can use just about anything and won't lose the tooth. Water, turpenoid, paint don't phase it at all. I only wish that they would come up with a white rather than cream because doing an underpainting in watercolor for my pastels would be a lot easier to read. I like the roll because I can work as large as I dare and can size a painting to any free frame I can get my hands onto.

I recently started working with the PanPastels, and till now, exclusively with the Pastel Matte papers. Wanting to do larger paintings than I have been to date, I saw that other reviewers mentioned that the 800 grit UArt paper was excellent for use with the PanPstels. The 56" roll of the paper is perfect for my needs, as I can cut the paper to the sizes I wish to work with. I will admit, there was some concern when I first got the paper, whether or not the grit was a bit more course than I anticipated. However, my first painting on the paper is humming along nicely, with no issues that I can see at all. I will warn that the paper IS still fairly course, and will dull a blade very quickly if you score to cut to size. The paper is also pretty stiff, so getting the roll to cooperate was a bit difficult. I ended up staining the paper somewhat as I was cutting to size, but that was my fault, and the surface I was cutting on. However, this brings me to my next point. I thinned some blue acrylic and painted a thin wash, just to cover some of the more severe staining. The paper took the wash beautifully! The paper does curl a bit with the moisture, but if weighted after drying, flattens right out. This roll will last me quite some time, but I will definitely be grabbing another when the time is right. Great buy!
