Comments about Tube Wringer:
I had been using plastic tube keys bought from a brick and mortar store locally, but I knew they were not doing the job. Besides that, they made storage of tubes awkward. Having used metal tube keys in the past with similar dissatisfying results, and being that they are far more expensive per key, ($1.50 vs. $.25), I sprang for the tube wringer instead, which has made the job easier and neater, and eliminates the awkwardness of storing tubes with keys on. Having heard that the gears sometimes slip on the plastic ones, I got the metal wringer. No gear slippage on this one. I think I've used it on every tube of paint and toothpaste in the house. Very pleased with the purchase.

I purchased the metal version during a Blick sale. This is a handy tool to have in the studio.
Metal Tube Wringer Well Worth the Money
By WBTT John

The Metal Tube Wringers are worth every cent you pay as they are rugged and will last a lifetime without stripping. There are other tube wringers which have plastic handles and gears which will strip in a heartbeat. However, the all metal wringers just keep turning along, saving paint with each turn. One can save up to 37% of tube paint by using a tube wringer and as I mentioned, this one is the best! I recommend it!

Don't waste that oil paint!

I chose the plastic Tube Wringer (even though I have an older metal one) because its a "light weight" and fits neatly into my paint box, making it more portable and handy. I will not allow my expensive oil paints to be wasted, so this is the ideal tool. Naturally this can be used for all mediums in a tube including your toothpaste. Affordable enough to have a few around the house. Good investment!
What can I say? It wrings great! My only wish is that it was like a steam roller and strong enough to really flatten the tube and get everything out. I think for that, you'd need something with a motor. This works fine. It stops at the neck of the tube (where it's very very thick) and very little is wasted.
