Use polymer mediums for extending any viscosity of acrylic paint. Polymer mediums are translucent when wet, and they dry to a clear, flexible film which has excellent resistance to water and ultraviolet radiation. Gloss and Semi-Gloss Polymers — Their low viscosities make them ideal as glazing mediums and top coats. They are extremely adhesive and can be used in collage and craft applications such as découpage. Add them to resoluble water based paints such as watercolours and gouache to increase water resistance and flexibility. Matte Polymer — Tri-Art's Matte Polymer boasts the same handling and performance characteristics as the Gloss and Semi-Gloss polymers, but it dries to a matte finish. Use it to decrease the gloss of acrylic colors and gloss mediums, and as a matte glazing medium. When a transparent ground is needed, it can be used in the place of gesso, and its tooth will increase adhesion. ™ Tri-Art is a trademark. |
