I was reading all the comments regarding the 120 pencil case and to tell the truth I was not sure if I wanted to invest my money on it......an then I said...why not give it a try! All the other methods I tried did not work so it would be a very good alternative choice. It came just this morning (I live in Cyprus and it came reaaaaaaly fasr!!!), and I could not wait to try it!!! Guess what!!!! It is as described on the description and more!!!!!! It fits two pencils per section.....it is wide enough for other useful items you need to take with you and it is so perfect for organising all my pencils!!!! I will be making a colour chart and will add it so you can see for yourself......I have also added some photos I just took on my phone, just to show you what I mean!!!! Hopefully I will fill it up soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A very nice case, similar in feel to a CD wallet. The material feels quite sturdy. I got a 72 pencil set and opted to get the 120 size case so I'd have some headroom. I'm glad I did because the bottom loops are covered when the case is open. I tried putting some pencils in there, but it was a big pain to get them out. Not in any way a dealbreaker, but you should keep this in mind if you're using a 120 pencil set. I suppose you could occupy the loops with pencils you don't use frequently.

The loops themselves hold 2 pencils per loop, no more. I began loading the pencils 1 at a time finding it cumbersome & time consuming. When I put 2 at a time it was far easier. It holds them nice and snug, but you can get them out just fine. If there is only 1 pencil in the loop it will stay in place but can be moved easily.

Put the pencil points all facing toward the center of the case! Because of the picture here on DB, I pointed the ones on the flaps outward. When I went to close the case I realized that all the points would be pressing up against the zipper! They would've been mangled if I hadn't checked. So keep that in mind also.

As others have stated, the only thing missing from this is somewhere to put a pencil sharpener. Maybe an outside loop on the spine? This isn't a necessity, but it would make this case beyond perfect. As is, it's a great pencil holder.

PS - I'm new to the pencil game, and after reading around I found that a case is better for your pencils than a tin. You don't want them to wiggle around or feel any impact. That can damage the leads inside & make them crumbly!

I purchased 3 of these cases: 48, 96 and 120 pencil capacity. I use one for each type of colored pencil I have. They are super protective while still allowing me to easily see which colors I have avaliable at a glance. I really like the new style with the zipper, they keep things from getting into the cases from the side also. The elastic loops are very substantial and hold two pencils each quite easily.

I love the case for holding my pencils in place, where I can easily identify which pencil I want to use. This small case is perfect for travel and sketching on the go. I plan on ordering one or two of the larger sizes in the future.
I would add a small zipper pocket or pouch to put in an eraser, sharpener or tortillions but that is my only suggestion.

I purchased the 120 pencil case although I don't have nearly that many. I am glad I did because the case has enough pages or compartments so that I could have Watercolor and regular colored pencils in the same case and divide pencils according to the color wheel and color type and have room for my regular drawing pencils and lead holders. I am so organized now that I don't have to search around for colors and I always know where they belong. The case is strong, durable, light weight and has a nice carrying strap. My only regret is that I didn't buy this sooner.

I just got it (120 capacity version), so not sure about long term quality yet, but it seems well made, & it holds pencils, so can't give less than 5 stars at this point.

I had to play around with it a bit to figure out the best way to put the pencils in it. Each panel of holders has two straps, one close to the edge, one almost in the middle. Insert each pencil, tip first, into the middle strap, than slide on into the edge strap. This results with the pencils on the outer panels with the tips towards the outside, and those of the inner panels with the tips towards the inside or center.

You kinf of have to push the outer panels up (when held flat) relative to the center panels to be able to insert the pencils easily.

This arrangement seems to provide easy access & tip protection. All good.

It can hold stubbies too. More goodness.

It actually has 62 inserts, each to hold 2 pencils. Not sure if the extra strap could actually hold any pencils due to the configuration of the zipper (it could cetainly hold short pencils).

I bought this to replace the 4 tray box that comes with the Prismacolor 120 set (or at least the one that did a few years ago), which worked OK, until the pencils got used a couple of inches, & then they dissappear, unless you take the trays out. Which would be fine, except there are no grooves in the trays, and the pencils slide all over the place (I like to keep them organized).

Although the pencils fit, & the tips on new/full length pencils seem like they will be protected (again , I've only had it for a couple of hours), I think it would be better if the case was just a few millimeters larger in all dimensions. There is a little contact between tip & case when closed. I could probablly tweek the exact position of each pencil to avoid this, and there probably isn't that much pressure being put on the tip (of course I didn't measure the pressure in a lab, & some pencils are rather fragile), so a few mm of extra space would be good.
