Always dried out
Every time I have bought these markers, they end up being dried out upon purchase or within a week. I only have one marker that has held up well. I do not think this is the fault of the retailers, as I have bought this both in local shops and online. I kept trying to give it a chance because I prefer the warm grey colors with this brand over some others, but they just don't last.In this case, going with Copics would have been less expensive in the long run.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I bought this as a beginner in hand lettering. I figured it would be good to start off with just getting used to a brush pen/marker. It was great for that, however, by the end of my third time using it the tip was very worn and broke off. I do not press down hard on pens but this one just gave out and ink exploded on my page. I will not be purchasing again as I felt it was over priced and I got all of three uses out of it.
Merchant response: We're sorry to hear that this marker didn't last well for you. Please look for an email from one of our Customer Care Agents offering further assistance.

Good markers. Brush tip is a little soft though
from Gainesville, Florida
The markers lay down a smooth color and hold up well. The brush tip is a little soft though which makes fine detail a little more difficult.

Some of the markers came dry and I'm going to try to add isopropyl alcohol to see if it'll work. (some people said this will work and it's worth a shot because otherwise the marker's useless) Other than the several dry markers I got, they're comparable to copics. You also need to be careful about what fineliners/inks you use if you do lineart, they smudge terribly even with pencil. So use something like copic multiliners with these.

Smooth and mix well on mix-media/Bristol paper, colors are amazingly beautiful (especially Frost Blue and Turquoise).
Product reciepient loves it
from Cedar Falls, Iowa
Our landscape architect recently joined the department and had left her markers in Illinois. I was looking for the Prismacolors and this was selected as an alternative. She loves the product and has referred it to her daughter and son-in-law, both artists.

I recently bought a set of these markers and they are working great! I use these along with Copics and there are no real differences except for price. These are much less expensive. However, the colors shown on this website and on the top of the markers don't match the exact color of the ink. Be careful about that. Otherwise, all around good buy.Thank goodness for Blick Art and its amazing deals!

I use these markers to color and they are the best I've used! Brush tip and chisel tip work great! No cons for me!

High Quality Markers
from San Diego
I currently use Copics Sketch and Shinhan Brush markers. I can say that I do not see any clear advantage in perfermance between the 2. Both have replaceable nibs, and both are refillable. I was told by Blicks customer service that they should have the refills available by early 2014, I currently get mine elsewhere for now. I believe the Copics refils have just a bit more of color (about .15 ounces)The brush nibs on Shinhan markers have not given me any problems. No gumming up. Works just as good as copics.Copics have about 150 or so more colors available. But I'm good with the 204 possible colors from Shinhan. Both have very vibrant colors. The one thing that I clearly see a difference in is price. At about $1 less each marker, the choice is clearly Shinhan for that reason.
