Tight'N'Up Liquid Canvas Retensioner is the perfect solution to most canvas tension problems. It instantly and safely tightens well-stretched canvas and paintings that have slackened over time.

Simply spray a small amount of the solution onto the back of the piece. Once applied, Tight’N’Up soaks into the canvas threads and fibers causing them to swell and contract and the canvas to tighten. As the water evaporates, the binder agents remain in the fabric material, locking the fabric into a contracted state, restoring canvas tension, and leaving the surface flat and tight.

Not recommended for use on polyester-based or oil-primed canvas.

I had never used anything like this before so I don't have anything to compare it to except water and keys which are all I have used in the past. The canvas I purchased just needed the extra help after I used the keys and this product really helped out. The canvas still isn't drum tight but it's much better than it was before I applied the Tight'n'up.

Tight'N Up makes any canvas tight and easy to work with. I work with the pallet knife and without the resilence of the canvas things just wouldn't work properly.

I've never used or even seen this type of product before so I can't compare. However, I have used plain water to tighten canvas for years. Compared to water this is far better. I had a painting with a cheap canvas that was loose in two corners. I tried damp cloth and sponges. I even re-stretched but tore the canvas and could just barely staple back on. I thought I would have to reline and happened upon this product. In desperation I gave it a shot. I removed the staples at the two corners and was able to spray in there plus use a brush after re-restapling. It did the job. What a great find. Thanks to whoever discovered this and to the manufacturer.

Flaws in canvas go away like magic. Only problem is getting it behind the stretcher bars: I pour a little out and use a brush to get it back there. Can just spray one area or the whole thing. Starts working right before your eyes. It even works on the primed side of the canvas, though not as well.
