Welcome to dickblick
This large, lightweight, covered palette keeps colors moist. The Robert E. Wood palette is really two palettes in one — the cover with its four extra large wells doubles as a palette.
The interior palette has two large mixing areas and 24 deep, slanted pigment wells. It's made of durable, stain-resistant white plastic, and it's easy to clean. Dimensions are 12" × 16".
Robert E. Wood is a trademark.

Replacing a very old palette
Comments about The Robert E. Wood Palette:
Had the same brand palette for 30 years so I'm replacing with the same. Always worked well for my purposes. An instructor taught us to put full 15ml wet tube paint in each well and let it dry, like pan watercolors. Works great.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Wood palette is spacious, sturdy, affordable
from Billings, MT
This covered watercolor palette is sturdier plastic than I'd expected. The well and mixing spaces are outstanding. I ordered some for a class I'm teaching and now covet one for myself.
Robert E Wood PALETTE

I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED A PALLET THAT WOULD HOLD ENOUGH COLORS . THIS ONE CAME CLOSE. LIMITED PALETE IS NOT FOR ME. I LIKE LOT OF CHOICES. IT IS NICE AND LIGHT AND EASE TO CLEAN THE MIXING AREA. I WISH THE LID WOULD FIT A LITTLE TIGHTER.

Nice but acrylic paints get stained
from Charlotte, NC
It is nice to have a big palette but I like to clean thoroughly between uses and the thin plastic doesn't clean easily. This would be great in porcelain.

This would be a great palette except....

I absolutely love the size and layout of this palette. The divider separating the two mixing areas is great. The size of the wells is perfect. The number of wells is terrific. HOWEVER, the plastic is so thin and flimsy that mine wore out after 2 years. IF the manufacturer used a sturdy thick strong plastic, this would be the perfect watercolor palette for me. Now my dilemma is... buy another one knowing that it will only last 2 years or try to find another palette that is better made but doesn't have the layout that I love.....???????

I would not recommend this palette to anyone... the plastic is flimsy, the palette itself is bulky to carry around, and there is not much mixing space. Also, the colors dry out between painting sessions, sometimes even overnight.

Great start but doesn't last
from St. Paul, MN
I agree with comments that the palette is well laid out. That's why I bought it. However, after two years of use, the center space gets so stained, particularly with yellows, I have to use a strong cleaning product to get it clean. If I don't clean it after every use, it is difficult to know the true color of the paint I am mixing. So I tossed it. If the manufacturer used a better material, this would be a great product because of its design. But right now I wouldn't recommend it.

U get what U pay for
from Toronto, ON
I have used several Robert Wood pallets in the past, and after getting a new one, I found they have really dropped in quality. The plastic is so thin in the bottom of the wells which leads to denting and damaging in handling. There are also many flaws coming through from the mould in manufacturing. Customer service handled the problem for me without delay which was great. So if you buy one, keep in mind its a cheap pallet and it shows. More like a disposable pallet.
