In the foothills of the Himalayas, the Daphne plant, locally known as "Lokta," grows in abundance at altitudes of more than 6,500 feet. Removing the bark from the Lokta actually promotes new growth and is beneficial to the plant. The controlled harvest of the Lokta ensures a sustainable, eco-friendly papermaking process.

I purchased this paper for an art class next month, so I haven't use them yet. But I have removed them from the package and love the quality.

Wrapping paper was how I imagined it, still kind of over priced when shipping is factored in.

Really Beautiful Paper

I find it difficult to gauge what a paper is going to look like once I get it because I know the colors are never the same as on the computer screen. Every paper in this pack is absolutely beautiful. I plan to use it for origami and it will make lovely creations. I can't think of anything bad to say about these papers.

I like the selection of this paper to use in a book I'm making.

I use the papers for collage and handmade books. The papers come in nicely coordinated packs in pleasing designs. The paper is on the soft side for using as pages in a book, but is excellent for other applications. The only negative is that the paper has a strong smell, I think from the dye colors used. I laid the papers out individually on a table for a couple of days, sprayed an air freshener nearby and the smell has softened to a pleasant one.

These are amazingly beautiful papers. Substantial enough to use in any card making, scrapbook or collage project and also thin enough to fold for making iris folding cards. I am so happy with this purchase and will buy more as needed.

I have used these lovely papers in collages for greeting cards and in encaustic paintings and am very pleased with the results. I love the soft "hand" of the paper - very easy to manipulate and leaves great edges when torn after brushing a thin line of water where you want to tear.
