Just wet the brush and work up a lather on the hard cake. Even old, hardened oil paint brushes can be restored to their original snap and luster.
Brush Cleaner and Preserver works on most acrylics and watercolors, too. It gives off no harmful fumes or odors, and it's safe for use in the classroom or studio.

brush cleaning for oil painting
Happy to have found this one!
By Artist in the Garden

This product cleans my brushes to their orginial state. It also cleans my hands and my clothes when I'm done painting. But, it doesn't stop with painting, I use this to clean up after gardening and when my husband comes in greasy from work, I hand it to him, too.
The Best Brush Cleaner Ever!!!
By D Girl20
from Somerville, MA
This product I use after every painting session to wash the color out of my Robert Simmons brushes. It does a nice job in cleaning out the color and after 24 hours of letting the brushes dry, it leaves the bristles shiny and conditioned. I have the 1 oz cake and it is enough for the time that I am using it. Overall it's such a good product and I recommend every painter to get this if you want your brushes to last longer. It doesn't take much to leave your brushes looking new again.
Great brush cleaner! Here's a tip..
from Dallas, TX
Try pressing and twirling your soapy brushes into a 'Magic Eraser' type foam block cleaning pad. I think it helps clean them faster and better.
Fabulous brush cleaner

This is the most wonderful brush cleaner and preserver I highly recommend it to all of my students in my art studio and I keep the large studio size tub available for all of them to use it is a good value it lasts about a year in my studio I have 16 art all week long highly recommended and it has a great smell also it can also rescue a brush that has dried acrylic paint and it just gently rub it into the bristles and let it soak in do it again and again might take a day or two but it will rescue your brush and it does not dry out the bristles or your hands
Revives dead brushes!
By Art Teacher

I use this product with my upper-level painting students to keep their oil painting brushes in good shape. It's also works like magic to revive brushes that my lower-level students haven't washed out properly. I've had brushes stiff with dry paint that (with warm water and Master's Brush Cleaner) I was able to restore and continue using.
Best brush cleaner ever!
from Ludington, MI
This brush cleaner is so simple to use and it really gets paint out of your brushes. I've soaked ruined brushes (I use oil paint) and after a few treatments they come out just as good as when I bought them! I definitely recommend this cleaner for anyone using oils and wanting to keep their brushes soft.
Saves the lifespan of brushes and can bring old ones back to life.
