For the first time ever, all 3,022 paintings in the world's most popular museum are gathered and presented in one stunning book.

The Louvre: All the Paintings is a beautifully curated, full-color volume that — like the renowned museum itself — includes many of the most important and celebrated paintings of all time. The book is organized according to the Louvre's four main painting collections (the Italian School, the Northern School, the Spanish School, and the French School), with works presented chronologically by the artist's date of birth.

The paintings are all superbly documented by author/photographer Erich Lessing, and each is fully annotated with the name of the painting, the artist, the artist's birth and death dates, the date of the work, the medium that was used, the size of the painting, the Louvre catalog number, and the room in the Louvre where the painting is displayed.

Art historians Vincent Pomarède and Anja Grebe provide commentary on 400 of the most iconic and significant paintings, analyzing their key attributes, suggesting what to look for when viewing them, and exploring the artist's inspirations and techniques.
