The Testrite #700 Professional Studio Easel is an outstanding choice for the artist who has limited space, and needs an easel that is compact and lightweight, and that folds away easily for storage.
The Testrite #700 Easel supports a lot of canvas, yet folds flat to fit into the back of a small closet in a big-city apartment.
The #700 Professional Studio Easel is extra sturdy and rigid, yet its lightweight aluminum frame construction permits easy positioning. The back is hinged, and the canvas supports can be raised and lowered, so that a canvas can be positioned to meet your exact needs.
Testrite's #700 accommodates canvases up to 60" (152 cm) high. The 24" (61 cm) wide utility tray with palette holder can store canvases, knives, palette cups, or other materials. It folds flat for space-saving storage.

Comments about Testrite #700 Professional Studio Easel:
I like aluminum easels for their light weight, indifference to moisture, and neutral color. Aluminum and steel easels I have seen and owned have been too narrow or small for paintings of any width. Having searched on and off for years, long enough that I would happily pay twice as much for one that worked for me.And in fact, thats what I did. I bought two of these easels, drilled a few holes, combined parts from the both and added a 12" x 24" sheet of aluminum I bought off the web to add rigidity, Without the extra parts it was ridiculously flimsy. But now I have the really good light weight, neutral color, weatherproof easel I have long sought. For small canvasses, just adding the aluminum sheet (3/16" or 1/4") to the original single easel would be enough to make it better than the narrower metal easels I have found,.but without it, forget it. It sounds like a crazy way to get an easel, but I had looked and looked over several years. I am happy now.

Nice looking, Light, but Not Sturdy
from Bellingham WA
My husband, an engineer, put the easel together for me. I found it was not solid enough for my canvases. Weighs about 15#....I have another Blick Easel, metal, that I use for smaller canvases without issues. Needed something more substantial...but this didn't work for me...so I returned it and will use a heavy wood one.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Not Rigid, Not Sturdy
This easel had gotten one good review, which I now question. I wanted a sturdy easel for larger canvases. After putting the easel together, it was wobbly--the legs rocked back and forth although it was put together properly...I set a 48" painting on it and it was not the least bit stable. I think the aluminum bars at the base were just not big enough nor heavy enough to make this a solid standing easel. So am returning it.
Good quality for the money

Love the easel. Only wish it was a little taller or had a height extender. Good Value.
