Welcome to dickblick
Swiss Clips are an inexpensive, yet classic contemporary method for hanging prints. Just four small, spring-loaded, stainless steel clips will hold a medium-sized picture up to 30" × 30" (76 cm × 76 cm).
Use sturdy mat board, plywood, or masonite as backing, and framing glass or clear acrylic sheets as a protective covering (not included).
Each package contains 4 clips.

Easy and effective

Comments about Swiss Clips:
I used these to frame my watercolor paintings. They were easy to use, and I like that they double as hanging hooks. The only issue I had was that one of the clips didn't come with the little tab that you hammer into the back of the frame. I just made sure it wasn't going to be one of the clips used for hanging and put some super glue down.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The Nomadic Fungi Institute used these clips to frame document between plexiglass. These clips are strong and have a very small impact on the front of the frame/glass. Would use them again.
It's all good

scared to hang with nails
I'm worried about hanging it only with nails. The point is not staying in the foam board and I tapped it with a hammer, but it doesn't keep the point in. I have tried gluing it as the instructions suggest, but think I'll be using a string to tie the top to the bottom clips before I use nails to hang the 19x27" glass framed print. i feel better about corner clips and strings, which I've tried before.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: When using these clips with foamboard, it helps to bend the springs slightly to reduce the clamping force, which will help keep the locking pins in place for hanging with nails. One of our old Swiss clips (used on a glass and foam board painting for the last 20+ years) was lost in a recent move so needed to replace...went to several frame stores and was told these clips weren't made anymore, went online and found these and they are just like the originals only newer. :-)
