We bought this for our artist son for his 11th birthday and he loves it. It is a great work station - spacious, well designed and sturdy. It is also a great value for the money - to get the desk, chairs and a lamp for the one price is really impressive. the only negative we have is that it is kind of a pain to set up...well worth it in the end, but still a pain.

I am an illustrator and was in dire need of a new drafting table. For the price, this table seemed great and it is not all that bad. This 4 piece set is ideal for anyone just starting out with art, but for the pros and the artists who are very passionate about their art, maybe another table would be best. It IS a little wobbly, but the chair is great, the lamp works fine and the side caddy for all the pens, pencils and erasers is a must, much better than old tin soup cans and cups.

The instructions were useless. I had to put it together by eye and with a tape measurer. The particle board wasn't great. There were no markings on where anything should go when you're putting it together. What if you weren't precise enough? The only help they give you is a ruler on paper. The chair isn't sturdy. If you sit in it, the bar touches the wheels and I'm not severely overweight. You also have to sit in the chair to adjust the height. It feels wobbly. I'll have to buy another chair later. The lamp hinges are weak where it moves.
But it does seem to work fine after it's put together and after you have a better chair.
