Comments about Student Wood Chisel Set:
These were purchased for printmaking class woodblock project. They are not very sharp. Students experience difficulty using them. Not all blades seem useable. I would purchase again only because I have not found another product for the price.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I teach relief printing and recently purchased several different sets of carving and printmaking tools. The students complained about the quality of this set immediately and, after trying the other brands I had provided, set these aside. I have since re-wrapped them and intend to return. PLEASE NOTE, this is not a reflection on Dick Blick, with whom I am very satisfied, merely an opinion on this particular set of tools. Save time, money, and your hands, investing in better quality tools at the start.
Merchant response: We're sorry to hear that these chisels aren't working out for you, and we'll be happy to help with a return. Just call 1-800-723-27872 to speak to a Customer Care Agent.

Replace this product with something BETTER

After 40 minutes of my class using these on their Frescos (which were still partially wet) most of the blades were chipped and crocked. Really sad especially since they are meant for wood which is much harder than a fresco.
Merchant response: We're sorry to hear that these carving tools didn't hold up well for your project. One of our Customer Care Representatives will be in touch to see what we do to can help.

I bought it to start a new hobby
Im using it currently to learn how to carve wood. It's cheap so i was happy and it did what it was suppose to do. To bad i couldnt carve the harder woods that would have been awsome :) other than that and the billions of cuts i have they worked great :D
