11x14 cold press paper
Comments about Strathmore Ready Cut Watercolor Sheets:
I like these papers, I've purchased quite a few. 11x14 is a great size, these papers are convenient. I usually paint on Arches but I enjoyed this paper. The only suggestion I have is to be really gentle if your lifting away any tape you've used for stretching, (I use a neutral ph tape I bought on here with low tack). I tore one of my pictures a bit in the area underneath the tape, but its unnoticeable at least.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

paint dried strangely on it
By Paulina, watercolorist
from Atlanta, GA
My paint dried strangely onto it...some colors disappeared altogether. It also took a great deal of paint and water to cover an area, I had to go over paint twice or even three times to get even coverage. However, the paper did not buckle too much. This was my first time using hot press watercolor paper, but I feel like the disappearing color problem should not have been an issue.

I am very happy with this paper. It can take a great deal of water without warping or curling. The colors turn out vibrant and beautiful even when using cheap paint. I also find it so convenient that the paper is pre-cut and ready to use. The price is fantastic too!
Hot Press was rough
By Napa Artist
from My Studio
There are standards one expects when purchasing watercolor paper -- and I was expecting a smoother surface for the hot press paper when I purchased the sheets that were labeled as such. What I got instead were sheets that had a textured, rougher surface that would be more akin to cold press paper. So be forewarned -- these ready-cut watercolor hot press sheets are textured and not smooth at all.
Merchant response: Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us. We found these sheets to be have a textured side, similar to a cold press paper as you mention, however we found the other side to have the smooth hot press surface as expected.
This is good paper.

I often use this paper when doing demos at festivals and art shows. It is easy to carry and being pre-cut is very convenient.
Loved the paper quality
Great quality for the price. I liked the individual Sheets
Calling all rubber stamps to this great product!
By Love Being Creative!
I just recently discovered these HOT PRESSED watercolor sheets and they are absolutely stunning when used with the rubber stamping/watercolor technique. No more blurred lines, very crisp images and the watercolors are beautiful on this smooth paper. I first order one package of this Strathmore Ready Cut Watercolor Sheets to try them out and found them to be exactly what I have always been looking for so I immediately placed another order for four more packages. I love working with the smaller size sheets. Blick's price was far lower than any other place that I looked at, plus the others only seemed to carry the large size pads only. I have not found anything negative with this hot pressed ready cut watercolor sheets.

I loved the price and the fact that the paper is precut. But when I went to paint on it I realized that the paint wasn't drying fast enough for layering and I had to be using a hair dryer. It's like the colors were just sitting on top of the paper. They weren't sinking in. I realized that maybe there was too much sizing so I washed a sheet off under the faucet and let it dry. It solved the problem beautifully. The paper is great and the price is nice, just be aware you may have to wash the sizing off if it's too much for you.

This hot press watercolor paper was smooth and easy to paint on. I wish it came in more per package but with the solid value, I was able to purchase two packs.
Great Size for Card Making

I purchased both the hot and cold press paper. I love the smoothness on one side so I can stamp a good image. I use this paper mainly to add watercolor techniques to my greeting cards. Just the right amount of thickness.
