Comments about Strathmore Ready Cut Watercolor Sheets:
It's hard to find sheets of watercolor in this size (8x10") for scanning. Furthermore, it's even harder to find hot press paper in this size! The paper quality is excellent and holds up very very well. The pricing is the best I've found for Mid/Professional level paper in this size. Will definitely be purchasing more.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I intend on buying this product again and again!
I use these Strathmore 500 series 100% cotton precut 5x7 hotpress 140lb. watercolor cards to write on in my loose leaf writing journal. They take ink nicely and they have a beautiful color, feel and texture but smooth enough to write on! I highly recommend them.

A picture , or paper, can be worth more than 1000 words
from New York, new york
I wanted to do something really special years ago, for a man who had really proven to be the most reliable and caring of friends. To me he had all the material things anyone could ever want, so this one had to be particularly special and thoughtful. So I decided to make him a hand drawn calendar. All I had were these strath more water color sheets and some black fine point pens. But out of mere things, something much greater can be created . He loved the calendar so much and said it was the most thoughtful thing he hand ever received... And he ain't no spring chicken. He saw that I had a real talent for this and from that time on I have created numerous drawings, both small and large, including a calendar every year to place in front of the images made the year before. And I believe that the particular texture of these strath more sheets helped me creative more beautiful drawings... A different use for watercolor paper. Thanks again!

The precut size is perfect for the watercolors I'm painting at this time. The weight, texture and quality of the paper is wonderful.

I found myself spending more time trying to precisely cut 5X7 cuts and less time creating actual works. These are as precise as can be and with very little buckling, which I'm sure depends on how one saturates it. Needless to say, I've ordered other available sizes.

Strathmore shame on you for downgrading the quality
from Ann Arbor , michigan
I used to buy the 8x10 and 11x14 inches hot press water papers in bulk. I just received 3 of the 8x10 and 2 of the 11x14 this month and after using one of them I noticed that something was horribly different in the quality of the paper. The paper is thinner, ( there is no way this is 140lb paper anymore!) and does not absorb the colors like it use to. It is akin painting on a napkin where the color soaks in through the paper bleeds horrible in ways that watercolor should not bleed on paper. As a result, the black colors are extremely faded ( imagine how it would look on a bounty kitchen napkin), and requires a TON of watercolor just to show up temporarily then fade once dry. HORRIBLE. I can't believe how angry this made me as a customer. Now I am stuck with returning these and missing the quality this paper once was. It was very desirable because it was super bright white and pre cut but now it's a complete waste of money. I can't sell this art to my customers. PLEASE REVERT to your prior quality of paper ASAP.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Strathmore Ready Cut Watercolor Sheets

I have used this paper for years and prefer it over all the others. It is a tough paper that withstands a lot. I use it for all my watercolor projects and it is nice to have it already cut to the size you want. The paper itself lends so well to any watercolor paint and is strong enough for you to make changes to your work.

Paper tore when taking tape off but was a good virgin try at watercolor.
