Ideal for designers and graphic artists, Strathmore 500 Series Marker Pads feature smooth-surfaced 100% cotton sheets that are semi-transparent/translucent yet accept heavy coverage of felt-tip markers without bleeding or feathering.
The paper's white color guarantees optimal reflection of marker colors. Excellent for layouts, rough comps, renderings, building colors, and blending tones, it's also a visualizing drawing paper that works well with pencil, charcoal, pastels, and pen-and-ink.
Acid-free. Paper is 13.5 lb weight (50 gsm). Tape bound pads contain 50 sheets.

Comments about Strathmore 500 Series Marker Pads:
I bought this and the Canson XL Marker pad to compare - I like the Canson much better.

Perfect for paper snowflakes
from Davenport, Iowa
I cut paper snowflakes and have tried just about every paper. Regular printer paper is too thick; tracing paper too thin; origami paper too slippery (and the color chips). This paper is perfect for my needs. Plus, the 100% cotton and acid-free-ness makes the flakes last and worth keeping. It is fairly pricey, but worth it to me.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Markers bleed through
By Kal A.
from Boston, MA
I got this marker pads for use with Copic markers. unfortunately the markers bleed through and ruins the 2nd page and sometimes the 3rd page when pressing hard.it seems that this pad is good for shellac ink and water based ink. However, not for markers
Ok for roughs
from Kingsport, TN
For a company that makes such great paper for other mediums (pencil, charcoal, pastel, mixed, etc), this marker paper is just not good. I have used copics, prisma, and my personal favorite, letrset tria, and I am not impressed at all. Ink bleeds through the back if you use more than 1 layer, and when you try to blend the paper makes the ink gum up on top. I have tried it moving quickly, i have tried it letting the ink set up for a bit. There are far better alternatives to this, and they are much cheaper that are more economical, bienfang graphics, clearprint, borden.

This paper is extremely thin. Almost as thin as tracing paper. Markers do not feather on the surface, but they do bleed through the back. One layer entirely saturates the paper. It is okay for quick sketches, but unusable if you want to blend colors. I am using Prismacolor markers, maybe it performs differently with the Copic markers.

Nice, smooth product
By Cass with the Markers

I got a pack of this paper from a friend of mine a while back, and was really impressed by the quality. The only gripe I have is the erasers will sometimes smudge when I'm having to correct something before coloring it with the markers. But other than that, it's been great. I ordered some with my recent purchase and am looking forward to some more fun with experimenting with my markers and pens.

Great with Prismacolors!
from Napoleon, OH
I use this paper with Prismacolor markers. When I use my prismacolors I blend very heavily and use a lot of ink (probably more than I should)But this paper does not bleed at ALL! The paper is very smooth, and since it's transparent I can trace an image from my sketchbook to the paper so I can add color. Another plus is the amount of sheets! I have two packs of the paper so 100 sheets which is plenty.Since I only use Prismacolor markers though, I can't say that other markers will work as well on this paper...
from Mt. Pleasant, SC
We were a little bit disappointed with this pad, because it's not supposed to bleed through, but it definitely did bleed through when we used our Prismacolor markers. If that's not a problem for you, then it's fine.
