I had never bought a watercolor block before and I won't again. The paper is to hard to get apart and you tear the paper while pulling apart the sheets.

PROS:
* Block format seals paper on all four edges so that it remains stiff and flat.
* Pages can be removed easily from the block with a dull knife.
* Toothy surface readily accepts paint, without any bleeding or blooming.
* Surface is sturdy enough to survive scrubbing techniques.
* Watercolor works well with this paper as-is.
* Acrylic works well with this paper as-is if you apply it in thiner, drier layers.
* Acrylic works well with this paper for thicker, wetter layers if you first seal it with two coats of gesso or acrylic medium.

CONS:
* I wish the surface was a bit smoother, it's quite toothy.
* I wish the paper was a bit thinner, it's quite thick.

This is excellent paper and a very good choice for INKTENSE and watercolor pencils....the price is more reasonable than many watercolor papers.
