Strathmore 400 drawing and sketching papers contain 30% post-consumer fiber. All papers are acid-free.

Wire bound pads feature micro-perforated sheets that are actual size when removed at the perforation.

24-Sheet Drawing Pads — Bright white paper, ideal for use with pencil, crayon, pen and ink, charcoal, or light washes. Paper is 80 lb (130 gsm), spiral-bound on the short side.

30-Sheet Sketch Pads — The same paper as the 100-Sheet Sketch Pad, spiral-bound on the short side.

50-Sheet Landscape Sketch Pads — These pads contain the same paper as the 100-Sheet Sketch Pad. The 5½" × 12" size is spiral-bound on the long side, and the 8" × 24½" size is spiral-bound on the short side.

100-Sheet Sketch Pads — A general purpose sketch paper for classroom experimentation or perfecting techniques with pen, pencil, and other mediums. Paper is 60 lb (89 gsm), spiral-bound on the long side.

I purchased this item as a Christmas gift for a family member who is really into art. I had seen this line of paper pads at local hobby stores and although I thought the paper was wonderful for drawing, I was put off by the price. By purchasing through Blick, I was able to buy 2 tables and a charcoal pencil set for a few bucks more than the hobby store price of 1 tablet, AND it was shipped to my door. The family member I purchased this for was thrilled on Christmas day to receive such awesome art supplies and I was excited to find such nice products at such good prices.

I recommend this paper for anyone working with drawing media that wants a solid quality eco paper for the price. Good brightness & weight and takes many dry media quite well.

I've used many different types of sketchbooks and drawing papers over the past 25 years, and the Strathmore 400 series has become my preferred sketchbook. The "Goldielocks" theory comes to mind when it comes to this paper; some papers are too smooth, some have too much texture, this is just right. It has just enough texture for nearly any medium, and stands up well to aging compared to some other sketchbooks I've used, even within the Strathmore brand.
