Not bad at all
from long island, ny
Tried these out on sale and they were good to use for my daily practice - not my favorite paper but a good combination of color and tooth - I would use it for my main choice however.

Quality surface for pastels for a bargain price
from Pacific Coast
I gave this 5 stars because it is excellent quality for a much lower price than many other pastel papers. Compared to really high end pastel supports such as pastel board, it's more like 4 stars, but those are absurdly expensive. This paper has a lovely, natural, moderate texture. Enough tooth to take multiple layers of pastel if it is not applied super-heavy. It is sturdy and can take blending and wiping off of pastel numerous times. It takes hard pastels, soft pastels, and pastel pencils. It comes in several lovely shades, but I would prefer to be able to buy individual sheets of the colors I use the most, as well as to buy very large sheets. For the outstanding performance and very reasonable price of this paper, it is an excellent choice.I will try to attach an example in which I used all three of these pastel types on this paper.

I am new to this paper and have to use it more .
from Chicopee MA
I have used full sheets by another distributor but I needed a certain size so I purchased this pad. It is OK. A little rough but I did work out what was needed. I would like it to be a little smoother.

Not just for pastels- Great for colored pencil too
By Vibrant Art

I use this paper for colored pencil work. It has a good tooth, which allows me to apply multiple layers of color and to blend. The range of colors is just right, neither too dark nor too light. And having the pages in a pad gives you portability.

Like the Strathmore 500 better, not sure if it come in pastel paper. This 400 is great and the price is right though. Wish they would make just white pastel paper in these pad sizes. The Mi Tientes has more tooth than this one imo.
Very good quality

Just returning to pastel work, this paper looks and feels like exactly what I need to begin again.
