Love this paper!

Comments about Strathmore 400 Series Mixed Media Pads:
The paper is perfect for mixed media. I do calligraphy and watercolor. It doesn't bleed through and is strong enough for watercolor. This size is hard to find in stores so I'm so glad dick blick carries it!

A definite 5 star!
from Cleveland, Oh
I make cards as a hobby and often times love working with different media, watercolors, embossing paste, inks, die cutting. This works for everything! Even kids love it since they can literally rinse off the watercolor if they have a mess. Fantastic for so many different things. Colored pencils are the only thing that don't work as well. Love this product and Dick Blick has fantastic deals on it sometimes. I have not met one person using it who doesn't love it.
Love the sizes
from Myrtle Beach, SC
I really love having different sizes of pads. The paper quality is excellent. I can use this paper for water markers, alcohol markers, colored and watercolor pencils and even some watercolor. I chose to write a review so you will know how well it works - not for compensation.
My favorite illustration paper
By Illustrator in Cali
from Hanford, CA
I am so glad I found this paper. I use it just like I would use illustration board. It takes as many washes as I throw at it. It doesn't buckle! It performs better than any watercolor paper that I have tried and it is smooth. Perfect texture for pen and ink, and fine details. I love it because I can use it with a light box, and it is so easy to scan illustrations. The 18x24 size is perfect for illustrations that are 2 page spreads.I hope Strathmore never discontinues this or changes the quality.
Excellent for Art Journaling

6x8 size used in conjunction with a plastic ring-bound Jr. sized journal. I was able to use the coordinating punch to make individual pages. I will certainly be reordering this item to make additional journal pages.

I am fairly new to watercolor and this paper has been wonderful to use. I love the smooth texture but mostly I love that it doesn't buckle or need to be taped and stretched like traditional watercolor paper. I use this will watercolor and ink and it works perfectly.

Good product. Many uses.
from Northern Virginia
Very nice surface for a variety of work. I have tested out glazes with embedded semi-precious aggregate. I have applied layers of gesso (clear, white, & with pigment added) for recording studio pigment mixes, tints, visual & mixed complements, etc. for permanent reference. The surface of the paper itself is very good for a variety of media & for detailed work. It's weight makes it a very good surface for efficient handling of related tools in the application of media.

The paper is really thick, which is something i really like about it . I can use watercolors and copic markers on it and nothing bleeds through. Pretty niicce.

I treat this excellent paper as if it were canvas....

I'm an acrylic painter and frankly I beat the hell out of this paper with heavy coatings of gesso, paint, and mediums. Amazingly, unlike some other so-called "mixed media" papers, it still dries flat no matter what I do to it. I prefer the vellum texture for my brushwork so what's not to like.
