Welcome to dickblick
The surface on this 100 lb (163 gsm) drawing paper has slightly more texture than Strathmore's 80 lb paper, making it durable enough to stand up to repeated erasing and reworking.
Excellent for use with pencils, colored pencils, charcoal, and sketching sticks, this cream-colored drawing paper is ideal for sketching and finished artwork.
Strathmore Heavyweight Drawing Pads are wirebound and hold 24 acid-free, micro-perforated sheets that are actual size when removed.

Comments about Strathmore 400 Series Heavyweight Drawing Pads:
I use this paper for color pencil drawing and graphite plus I have used charcoal on this paper. I completed a project using oil pastels and this paper performed well. It performs well using all these mediums. Very pleased, thanks Dick Blick. I purchased six pads almost a year ago. Almost gone! Can't go wrong with it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The standard drawing paper and slightly less expensive than the Canson, which I prefer. Only thing I don't like is that it's off-white instead of white. I would prefer white.

Good value, it is everything I paid for. Thought this paper would be a little better quality - expecting it a bit heavier, and able to hold more pencil without getting to the maximum point of greasy build-up with three layers of value. Here, your just pushing around the pencil mark.. However, a good workable fixative settles the issue.I prefer Arches hot press.
i love this paper its perfect for my graphite drawings.

It takes graphite and pen and ink like a champ.I've even had success adding a little bit of watercolor to my drawings with only slight buckling.

As always, I find Strathmore papers always cooperate with myattempts - and always do EXCELLENT. So far (in my "Boomer"lifespan tho I am under 60) I have NOT found a flaw in thisBrand. Only flaws are MINE. (rats!) But... I keep trying.
