Welcome to dickblick
This heavyweight, versatile Strathmore acid-free paper was made with the acrylic artist in mind, but it is also well suited for a variety of other painting, drawing, pastel or charcoal applications where a heavy paper with a toothy surface is desirable. The paper has a cream-colored linen finish. 246 lb (400 gsm).
New flipover covers make it easy to work in the pad. Sheets stay in the pad yet tear out cleanly. 10 sheets per pad.

Strathmore 400 Acrylic Pad
This paper is heavy weight and a very noticeable "LINEN" grain to it. Acrylic paint goes on very smoothly and it also reacts wonderfully to brush and palette knife. Been using this for many years instead of canvas.

I use this product for acrylic paintings - very easy surface to paint on and heavy enough so that it does not buckle - great product

Jury is still out
from Bozeman, MT
I usually use Acrylic on stretched canvas or 300 # watercolor paper. I thought this might be a good alternative. In order to place it on my easel, I had to tape the paper down like watercolor paper on a support. The paper has a nice texture so in the beginning I was intrigued. The paper responded well during the initial stages but when it was drying, II got some buckling. Then when I removed the masking tape the edges of the paper separated and stuck to the masking tape ruining the painting sides. I expected more durability from a paper designed for acrylic. I'd rather use 300 pound watercolor paper then this. At least the 300 pound paper doesn't buckle or tear with the removal of masking tape. So I wouldn't reorder this product.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Great quality paper for painting!
from Dallas, TX
I am an artist that usually paints on paper. It has texture like canvas, but I prefer to give it one layer of gesso and it is good to go! It has a nice weight to it and I like that I can roll it when shipping it to a customer. The reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that it buckles slightly when I applied gesso and acrylic on top of it. I hoped it would stay flat with tons of paint on it, but that is too much to ask. Overall, I would recommend this product!
