Comments about Strathmore 300 Series Canvas Paper Pads:
For paint it is fine. Does not buckle *too* bad even when I am using a lot of paint. My problem is that the WHOLE stack of unused papers fell out of it when i was walking to class! Lucky it wasnt near a puddle. Should be glued in WAY better!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great for Practicing!
from Seattle, WA
I teach a children's acrylic art class that is 12 weeks long. I have my students buy a canvas pad and use the 10 sheets for the first 10 weeks. We then do a bigger project the final two weeks. This paper is perfect for my class because it's so easy to store. Parents didn't want their kids dragging home canvases every week. The kids can store all of their paintings in a folder. They can also frame seasonal paintings swapping them out whenever they want. Easy enough! These canvas sheets do warp just a bit when using a lot of paint but I've had much worse so I can't complain. However, they do dry flat.

This is a great way to practice art making for acrylics or oils. However these are more expensive to frame.

Use it all the time!
Great for those who are learning to paint but don't want to spend lots of money.
Excellent Canvas Paper
from Woodstock, NY
I have students who only use canvas paper to paint on, both in acrylic and in oils. The finished painting is matted and framed. I have a painting done and framed in the 70s that is still in excellent condition. Great way to keep costs down.
I used the canva paper for quick studies. It took the paint well. One thing that didn't work is thinned out paint. It starts to bleed as there is very little absorbancy.

Good quality, not quite white
I like these sheets for quick studies. They're easy to cut and durable. The color is not white, it's more of a linen or off white color. This isn't a big issue for me, but for others it might be.
Solid learning material
These are basically a stamped sheet of paper with a canvas like texture and some gesso on the front side. They're a very good and affordable option for learning to use acrylic paint and I still like to keep the pads around for first studies or for testing out new paint or media. These don't seem to warp even when you use a lot of water, tho they're not as good in that respect as some of the genuine cloth canvas pads I've seen. Good value, recommended for students.
