It's a very smooth paper, almost glass like. Perfect for colorpencil and pen artists. Also, the heavier weight allows it to withstand more erasing abuse. Overall, a very durable and nice media to draw with various dry media. On a side note, it does weigh more than a normal drawing pad.

I use these pads in the smooth texture and 9x12" size for illustrations in Copic marker. I use it full-size, and also cropped to 8.5x11" with a very handy border for color testing.

Strathmore is a great brand for art supplies overall, and at this price, you can stockpile them!

The board is smooth and "feels" great to draw on. I've found a light touch works best, since heavy pencil lines can leave indentations and be somewhat hard to erase. It's sturdy enough to handle 4-6 layers of Copic ink without bleeding through.

I use this product for art projects in my classes.
The thickness of the paper, the feel of the paper [smooth] and the amount of paper that is given in this product.
The price unfortunately is a bit expensive but worth the pay.

I have been using this paper for a few years now(smooth only). I draw with India ink,pencil,soluble pencils,charcoal,colored pencils and also watercolor. I hate the texture of watercolor paper- don't do too heavy washes that will warp the paper. I even made prints of my artwork on them using my printer. When doing prints they turn out a little darker because of the absorbency of the paper. You have to make sure you spray the print with a fixative after wards or the print will run when water touches it. Recently I bought the 500 series Bristol and I am amazed at how smooth it is even compared to the 300 series smooth paper. There is no going back. But I still highly recommend this paper!

I have use this type of paper when I would tape a page onto a solid board. Normanly In the winter I like to collect my drawing on the pad. I like the pad with a spring at the top so I can use each page and turn the page without tearing off the top sheet.
This paper supplier has always have good products.

I was looking for a thick paper for my Zentangling. This is perfect. It has a great finish with a good tooth to it. It's consistancy makes for great art. I would recommend this to anyone interested in keeping or framing their art.
