Great for colored pencil

I use the Bristol Vellum anytime I plan on doing a colored pencil project with a full background. It has just enough tooth to grab the pigment, but is still a smooth surface to work on.

Love this product, but received damaged!
from Bakersfield, Ca.
I have gotten nice results with graphite pencils on this paper. I would have given it a 5 stars, but the paper was damaged on one corner of the pad.

Only good experiences with this Bristol paper. I use this for multi media art. Acrylic charcoal gouache scraping on off paint. Rubbing with baby wipes....ect. I keep a steady supply of this paper in my studio.
Go to paper for ink work
By the old Professor
When I am working in ink, dip pen, tech pen, felt tipped marker this is the material I find the most useable. A lot of my work is executed on this paper and then scanned into the computer, the surface has the right kind of reflectance for this use.

Great quality paper
from Houston, TX
I went with a larger size than usual, but I love the quality of the paper. (I normally use this for marker, dry color pencils, india ink and had no issue so far)

While the paper is just fine for my needs. It gets me that second time the pad arrived with slightly bend inside edge in one corner. First time I ordered two pads in size 14x17, one was perfect, the other one had bend corner all the way throughout the pad, all pages. My new pad in size 11x14, same thing but not as big damage area, just a bit of one corner. In addition, it is impossible to remove a page without damage to one side, paper splits in places while being pulled out and I am very careful while doing it. It is really glued in. I will have to cut off one side to have a smooth edge. I guess these pads arrived in that condition at Blick's but still disappointing.
Merchant response: We're sorry to hear that there was damage to the pads you received, and we'll be happy to take care of this for you. One of our Customer Care Agents will be in touch via email to assist you.
It warps weird if you use it wrong.
from Rexburg, ID
I use it for water color, which was a stupid decision as the paper warps faster than the USS Enterprise. Basically its is good-quality fat paper.
