Every once in a while it's nice to draw on a beautiful warm, ivory paper and that's what the Delta has. Not too yellow, and not too dark, just a lovely off white. The look is elegant but the paper in the Delta is tough as nails! I love to use multiple media in my sketchbooks so the heavy weight, sized paper is perfect for what I do. The paper takes pen, watercolor, gouache, ink, markers, and pencils of all sorts. It's great to know that no matter where a sketch takes me the paper can hold up through many layers, and combining different media. Highly recommended. Plus it archival!!

I've tried various watercolor journals and have to say S&B Beta journals are excellent and one I prefer to work in!! Paper surface is beautifully sized; forgiving allowing lifting without damage to paper; paper weight thick enough to handle wet in wet and painting on back-side of pages without the worry of bleed-through; and smooth enough for pen/ink work.

I do a lot of wet in wet and love how the pigment spreads. The surface has a nice gentle tooth for smooth line work with pen/ink while at the same time achieve broken brush marks and granulation with watercolor application. I also use a lot of lifting technique.....not particularly for correction but as a technique in general and this paper allows for that.
