This heavyweight palette doesn't slide around during use, allowing artists to focus on their craft. Its smooth, porcelain surface helps to maintain paint moisture. Porcelain doesn't stain, so clean-up is a snap.
It contains 32 color wells, one large mixing area, and a large plastic cover for additional mixing and storage. Great for acrylic and casein paint, as well as watercolors.

Comments about Stephen Quiller Porcelain Palette:
The watercolor paint spreads on the porcelain palette like butter. It doesn't pool up the way it does on a plastic palette. AND there are plenty of places for paint colors -- 24!!! I had a porcelain palette a few years ago, but it had fewer places for paint. I loved it because it was porcelain, but it fell out of the back of my SUV when I opened the hatch. I have lived for 2 years without a porcelain palette and finally I splurged on the Stephen Quiller porcelain palette and I love it even more because of the 24 places for paint. The price was less than I thought it would be, I should have bought it 2 years ago. LOVE IT!!!!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The layout allows me to work with my paint choices just like I work with a color wheel. There is no disconnect when looking for complementary colors when mixing.
I love porcelain!
from West Hamlin, WV
Lots of mixing room and wells for paints are in this palette. I had a great time setting up the palette which corresponds to the color wheel. This encourages me to mix colors that can be quite unique. It is wonderful to use at home and to use it traveling I will carefully wrap it to prevent breaking. I would like to see the cover made with a more durable material, as I plan to use this palette for a very long time.

I like the fact that it holds 32 colors and also holds the small stacking porcelain bowls for blending. I love a neat work station.

I'm using this watercolor palette in conjunction with Stephen Quiller's recommended pigment setup for complementary colors and neutrals. Since it's designed by Quiller it's great when used in this manner. The palette is massive, heavy, and feels incredibly substantial. This is a studio palette only, and is too big for plein air. I work big with 1-4 inch brushes, and this palette is a dream. Mixing watercolor on ceramic is far superior to plastic where the water just beads up. Quiller's name is stamped on the plastic cover in large black type, and I find this irritating. (Out came the white artist tape). Other than that I have zero complaints. This is a quality product designed from the ground up by a world-class watercolorist and color theorist. If there is a better watercolor palette available I was unable to find it after an exhaustive search. If you want the best (and you have the studio space), go with this. It's the ultimate studio watercolor palette.

I love porcelain because it is so easy to clean up and does not stain, I especially love the Quiller palette because of the layout for complementary colors which makes it a quick shading choice and this palette has plenty of wells to work with. The weight surprised me, it is plenty heavy so it does not move on my tables and makes me feel secure. I wished the lid was a little bit more secure, is the only draw back. I don't feel it will last as long as the palette. I can't wait to use it more and the price was wonderful, I've been looking and pricing for a long time and this was the best ever!!!!!

Sturdy, smooth palette
This solid, smooth, wonderfully heavy palette does what it is supposed to do.I used this palette for watercolor painting. The small wells are just the right size for an appropriate amount of paint, water, and for color blending. The little notches at the bottom of each well help to locate the right placement for primary colors and everything in between. The glazed porcelain surface wipes clean very easily. With water and dish soap, watercolor washes off the entire palette easily and completely - except for one very tiny stain, which appears due to a pinhead-sized chip in the glaze, but this is so minor that it will not affect the performance of the palette.I plan to use this palette with colored inks as well as oil painting and expect the same results with ease of use.

Palette is a delight!!

A porcelain palette is the best. This is my second one. (The drawback is they are heavy and break.) Paint mixes beautifully, and the palette is so easy to clean. I like the way this one is made in the shape of a color wheel.
