Welcome to dickblick
The Pigment Liner by Staedtler is great for writing, sketching, and drawing, with a long metal tip that makes it ideal for use with rulers and templates.
The Pigment Liner's indelible black pigment ink is waterproof and extremely lightfast, yet erasable when used on drafting paper. The ink won't bleed when highlighted.
Leave the cap off for up to 18 hours and this pen won't dry out. A durable barrel guarantees long life, and automatic pressure equalization prevents the Pigment Liner from leaking during air travel.

Clean and Easy Strokes
By Nature Journaler
Comments about Staedtler Pigment Liners:
I use these Staedtler pens and Micron pens. I really like both. Just depends on the paper I am using. I do a lot of nature journaling and writing. With the journal I use for writing (because of the paper texture and weight), I like the Staedtler pens. Either brand works well when sketching-- no complaints at all.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Favorite pen EVET
from Savannah Ga
This is the pen I reach for over and over. Nothing from Copic, deleter, prisma, Marvy Uchida tech, uni, faber castell, pigma or others quite compare. I do fine line drawings with the 0.05. The barrel is the perfect girth, and has a nice texture that makes my grip feel very secure. Great long metal tip makes using with metal rulers and templates flawless. My sole complaint is that they don't make a 0.03 tip, so I reach for the deleter neopiko or marvy for that. For filling larger areas with ink I do think the wider tips create a more uniformly opaque effect.

It Can Be A Good Liner
Twice I have purchased the pack of four liners and both times I have had issues (I purchased them from my local store rather than on DB). For starters the quality is great: great ink flow, rich black color, mild lifting of the ink when erased, dried quickly. But that's when the liners work. The first time I bought my pack of four I only got one use out of them because one liner (0.3) was "dried out" (in quotes for a reason) and the other three got used heavily. The second time I bought my pack of four all of the liners worked fine for the first time (and I hardly used them). Two weeks later THREE out of the four liners were "dried out" despite the caps being on and in the case they are packaged in. Not wanting to spend more money on liners I decided to break one open to see what was going on inside. I refused to believe that three liners "dried up" that quickly. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary and - surprise, surprise - the ink was far from dried up! I took the nib and stabbed it right into the ink cartridge wadding and the liner worked! Flowed right through the nib and onto the paper as if I had just bought it. TLDR;PROS: great ink flow, rich black color, mild lifting of the ink when erased, dried quickly.CONS: "dries up" quickly (surgery required on the liner to get it working again - see below) and no good with colored pencils but better than most.I guess in order to get these liners (or any liners) to work you need to break them open carefully, take the nib, stab it into the cartridge, and duct tape it together to hold it in the body.

Merchant response: Thank you for reaching out! We apologize for the issues you had with these pens, and if you purchased from one of our stores, our store associates will be happy to help you. We don't expect you to have to do "surgery" on products you purchase from us!
I used the 0.1 mm for accents on a colored pencil illustration. The ink didn't flow properly (maybe not meant to be used on a surface semi-saturated with colored pencil) so I kept going over the same line a few times. I must have broken the pen because it started leaking at the joint between the tip and the shaft. Same thing happened with the 0.3 mm. By the grace of the gods it didn't get on the artwork. Never using these pens for anything that matters.
Merchant response: We apologize for the issues you had with these pens, and we'd like to take care of this for you. We hope you'll give us a call at 1-800-723-2787 so our Customer Care Team can assist you.

Favorite pen - accurate and smooth
from Searcy, AR
Hard to find these pens sold individually any where else. Staedtler pens do not dry easily, have ultra-fine points and write very smoothly. Only negative is to be careful not to push down too hard or the nib may sink a bit making writing an angle more of a challenge.
Love this set of Ink pens
from Brooklyn, NY
I love this set of pens. These would be great for technical drawing, I however am not using them for that purpose. My drawing style is much more expressive but these pens can put up with the stress I put them under.
My Favorite Pens
I use several brands of fine markers for my art. I save the Steadtlers for the finished works. These provide a very good black, a clean line, and last a long time.

Love those pens
from Detroit, Michigan
The four sizes in the set make it very easy to use for many different purposes. This time I am using them to outline some of the figures in my artwork. They have many uses and are good for any idea that includes ink drawing.
Excellent, long-lasting pens
from Groton, MA
I use these interchangably with Sakura Micron pens for Zentangle inspired art.
